Nung colege days ko. Lagi ako dumadaan dyan sa excellente ham. Kasu hindi kaya ng budget. Ang pina wish ko tlga pag dating ng Araw sa Araw ng Pasko or New Year mka bili tlga ako dyan kahit. Tig ½ kilo lang. Namit gid.

Imagine still existing tong Excellente and Vienna bakery. I grew up with these shops in the late 70s. Magkatabi lang dati ang mga pwesto nila. Try mo un rye raisin bread ng Vienna and un plain rye bread. The best. Ang ham ng excellente un Chinese ham d best un gusto ng mother in law mo.

Ahhhh yes. Excelente. Brings back so many fun memories when I was a kid. Those ham were a staple in our home during Christmas and always paired by my late father with a marca piña queso de bola. Outside of that store were the roasted castañas vendors that’s also a staple during the season. Thanks man. I will be hitting that next time.

Used to go to those ham places (in Quiapo) esp during Christmas season. But we stopped going there for over a decade now since we saw a small ipis swimming in the oil tray for everyone to see. Can't recall if it was this place or another but we just basically stopped going. We just buy from their supermarket stalls. I actually still ask someone else to buy for me coz it's really good. As long as we don't get to see it ok lang haha. Hopefully they have upgraded their sanitation standards. Looks slightly diff now.
