In the video we were laughing when we saw that one of the suggested names was Suzee (Soo-ji) because we have an inside joke about the letter “Z” or z sounds. The inside joke instantly popped in our heads as soon as we saw that Dad wrote Suzee with letter z. We were laughing about our inside joke that we hadn't shared with you guys, we weren't laughing at the Dad's suggestions. Even though our initial reaction to the letter was a disappointment, later in the video we realized the magnitude of what this letter meant, signified by these 3 quotes listed below. 6:58 "He still bothered to mail it" 7:52 "It means he’s accepting the fact that you are going to start a family and you are expecting a baby" 8:06 "He's acknowledging the fact that he’s going to have a grandson or granddaughter."

Ok. My mom is black and my dad is white. They got married in the 60s. They stayed married for 45 years till he passed away. I never met my father’s mother. My moms dad refused to talk to us. I didn’t meet my aunts or uncles till I was a teenager. My parents loved each so much that I hope I have their marriage. They gave me what I needed. In saying that I am proud that your father is making this effort. That he is trying as best as he can to be a part of all of your lives. Stay strong.

I forgot to add, that my husband and I gave our child my father's name (as his 2nd name), which made helped smooth things over with him when we had displeased him and hurt the family honor by conceiving my son shortly after gettin engaged (which means, we got sexually involved shortly after getting engaged and did not wait til after the wedding.) In our case, this helped my father a little to accept his grandchild more, and both of my parents adore their eldest grandson. By naming your child with one of the father's suggestions, it will be one more tiny step in the right direction towards more family unity. Give it a thought.

The father is not leaving a good moral legacy or example for the family and so transferring a title from the father to the newborn is unwise. Another one, my ex told me that as soon as his father saw me, he said in Mandarin " I can tell just by looking at her, she can't be trusted". Things like this doesn't just happen with inter racial couples or marriages. It does happen even with inter or intra tribes even with same race. One time my "uncle" came over and was cursing my mom and said he will turn us children against her if they don't separate. Wow Justin your dad risked his life to send this letter, figuratively speaking. I can see that for the most part you follow Sarah's lead as you should because she's your wife and vice versa. I've read a lot of comments saying the couple is mocking Justins father's letter, although I don't think ppl are aware of the full story. I believe the reason Justin was "upset" more so disappointed is because he was excited/assumed it was a formal and in-depth letter that they'd receive(since he never sends letters. his father does call/text Justin, so Justin might have thought it would be a huge surprise) In the past vlog, Justin asked his father to join him and his wife to the gender-reveal party, which he said he won't attend, then Justin asked if he could think of names for his unborn baby. This letter did not come out of the blue, Justin asked for some names and his father sent them to him. I think Justin and Sarah do appreciate the gesture, they just thought he'd write a lot more than what he asked for. No ill intent or meant any harm.

I think Sarah simply has moments of feeling annoyed or over the Mother's behavior after all this time, which is normal and human. I think this is the perfect way for your dad to show that he still wants to be a part of your lives. Him giving you child names is like him saying 'I am a part of your lives' and not just 'I hope you had a good baby shower, this relationship wont work because of ABC'. To him there is still hope.

IMO, considering the circumstances, I wish she was be a bit more mature about certain things. I think your father put deep thought and love into that letter/names. It would have been nice for her to acknowledge that. As much as your father is in a bind, so are you! Justin...it is understandable for you to expect more from your dad, but you should try to look at it beyond a piece of note with a bunch of names. Instead look at the effort, the time and the thoughtfulness ...it might not seem a big deal to you, but I am sure to your dad it is, especially it is you that personally asked him for name suggestion and the fact that he remembered your request and sent you a list of names is an indicator of him wanting to fulfill something for you as your dad and the desire to be part of his grandchild's life even through his name...at least for now. Remember a grandchild, a baby is a natural "heart melter"...even if they are unplanned or unwanted once you see their face they can automatically touch and softens your heart, even your mom's. Any fire no matter how intense will eventually burns out too. Please consider including one of the names your dad suggested, they are actually nice names, he obviously thought of them very carefully...yes including the name Soo Jin. Also I suggest Justin that you don't stop visiting your parents even if your mom nags at you with the same rants over and over...let her, your best counter for that is to show her how happy you are with your life now as a married man and soon to be dad. Your mom loves you, she's just old school, narrow minded and in selfish mode right now. Maybe you can give your mom a tight hug and tell her..."omma na chinja kwenchana, na chinja haenbokhae, na Sarah sshi nomo saranghaeyo....kunde omma, appa, noona do nomo saranghae". Sometimes parents think they know what will make their kids happy, so they make that decision for them without realizing they are hurting them instead.

My wonderful boyfriend and I have had so many struggles with his korean parents. At times I wanted to just disappear to make things better for my partner I felt as if I was tearing his family apart just because I am caucasian. I would honor grandpa by giving a name as a middle name. Mom and dad choose the first name. Grandpa is really torn in his old traditions and values but is giving way to family love. I don’t know your religious background but I suggest that you, your families and we your supporters should place baby Park and this whole situation in 🙏. I also suggest regarding the girl names that if you are not happy with them then Justin should call and ask for more options for consideration ( please be very gentle 😊). Lastly, I strongly encourage you to use a name that your father/father in law suggests. The fact that Justin's father even suggested names, is a HUGE step. One of the greatest gifts any child can be given, in his or her name. Don't discount this gesture. It is one of love and concern for the wellbeing of his grandchild.

Just some encouragement for you guys. My husband and I got married against his parents wishes as well. I remember finding your channel before we got married and my husband just had a huge fight with his parents. It was one of the most painful seasons in our lives. But here we are almost a year later and now they want to be apart. They regret it so much that they didnt come and are still trying to make up for not being there. And even though there efforts are appreciated, my husband and I forgiving them way before was more important. We forgave and decided to open our hearts to let love and freedom in.
