I grew up down the road (W. Vernor Hwy and Junction/Livernois) going to this most magnificent church in the 70's and 80's. While my family belonged to Holy Redeemer parish, it was always a treat to go to Ste. Anne's. First, it is a BEAUTIFUL church with so much detail. I always tell people. If you're going to go to Detroit and you want to go into any church or churches, Ste. Anne's, Holy Redeemer and Shrine of the Little Flower are the must go to churches. Second, coming out of mass after Ste. Anne's it was a treat be because we would see all the people from the old country, the fellow highlanders from Jalisco, specifically people from nearby (my family is from Atotonilco el Alto, Jalisco) places such as San Ignacio Cerro Gordo and Arandas. We'd see guys who played on the soccer team my dad managed in the 70's and early 80's. And thirdly, there was always that area in front of Ste. Anne's, it's small little plaza where us kids could run around and just be kids. I have such fond fond memories of Ste. Anne's. Coming out of mass at this church was special. It was a different feeling than coming out of mass at Holy Redeemer.

I’d love to attend a traditional Latin mass in that church like most of the grandparents of those in the area and all who came before did! Wonderful jewel tucked away!!!

Basilica Ste Anne de Detroit is absolutely beautiful! ❤️ Our daughter was a bridesmaid in June 2021 at Ste Anne, which was so beautiful! We found out about the Sunday 7pm Mass outside in the Plaza, and have been attending this lovely outdoor Mass, with Healing prayers after Mass 🙏❤️ #GodIsGood

Congratulations to you, Monsignor Kosanke, and to the Parishioners of St. Anne Church! I know that it took a lot of time and work on your part to make this happen. Something to be proud of, indeed!

Did St. Anne's have a grade school at one time? My mother attended St. Anne's school when she was a child. She was born in 1913. She and her family lived in that area of Detroit. Her name was Catherine Truhn.
