Yes summer in Sweden is Europe’s secret at the moment, while everyone else is dying from the heat Sweden is perfect, winter you need to embrace it, sauna, ice skating and fishing and the candles and fires every season has its moments :)

We hope so! I think the places we create attract a certain buyer who is like minded so that is alway comforting. We never take anything we have practiced disconnecting from material items now for many years all we need our our dogs and each other and a suitcase :) it’s rejuvenating to let things go into the world that we have created! It feels amazing and rewarding

You have shared your journey with properties in Portugal and your very lovely Puglia house, we appreciate how truthful you have been, by showing your restoration work, your lovely healthy dog babies and the food you prepared. We wonder if by selling this wonderful home you are not making a bad choice,when we are young we sometimes think the grass is greener some where else and we have to move fast, only to realize when we are older that we made a big mistake. Maybe so but we aren’t scared of trying and if we don’t believe in ourselves and our ideas then who will? If it doesn’t work out then oh well, we will find ourselves back exactly where we are now, but at least we won’t regret having tried. Money comes and goes, but time and living in this life is priceless. We’ve never let fear guide us and it’s always worked out, we weigh up everything intensely and the only thing we would ever regret is not living or believing in what we can create:)

OMG towards the end of summer we kept driving near Oria -- even though our place is at the tip of the Salento and my husband kept saying, "it's a sign, you should reach out and we could ask all you wanted to know on how to fix up a place in Puglia" :) Lovely indeed. We are yet to start our own rehab but have already taken so many of your ideas to heart. Too bad our "neighbors" up north are now gone :( Happy xmas in Sweden!

We would have loved that and did even look into similar options but without tones of money and family connections it seems Italy doesn’t have any young entrepreneurs. Very difficult for young people who want to open new businesses in Italy! Hence why many leave i suppose??

When I was much younger, I moved multiple times. So many times that I have lost count. I took only what I could fit in my car. Now I am 74 and wish to only stay in one place. I still don't own anything outright but my clothes, not even a car anymore. I am an old soul and remember many lifetimes so I am not impressed by what this universe holds and am not anchored to it anymore. The more we anchor ourselves the more we are controled by what we are anchored to. Fly free and thrive! 😊

The feeling of leaving home for the last time and never returning hurts a lot. In my case a couple of months ago while packing up everything and knowing that I no longer belong to the house made me realize how everything passes so quickly, and that we're just passengers looking for the next challenge. It is an incredible time globally with the migration of people for such vastly different reasons. My reasons for needing to relocate simply do not compare to someone living in the third world needing to relocate because of political and economic forces. The examples are many and provide each of us with a sense of the strife and hardship of living as a human being amongst many other species and environments. All trying to access resources and a sense of safety and some comfort living with a new sense of place. Your journey also seems different seeming to have a destiny that may be more accommodated by personal choice and desire. My need to relocate is economic and about the need for a quality of life that i can not live here in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I have been looking at Puglia and the most southern part of the region to possibly buy a small house that can be renovated into 2 units where I can live peacefully and in a simpler way. Maybe I am caught up on the band wagon of a dream for a life that is a new challenge with the hope of a more fulfilling lifestyle? It seems that many have relocated to Italy, Spain and Portugal with similar dreams. It is good to hear the stories of these people and I thank you for your generosity in sharing your a story with so many from vastly different parts of the world. All the best.

Everyone is certainly living in challenging times! Much to consider these days when relocating and we feel for those who are forced into these situations due to horrible things out of their control. It can be a mad world. For us the desire to be closer to nature and outdoors plays a massive role, also our family are close by where we are going and climate change in southern regions has become scary for us. A lot to consider but everyone makes their own path and certainly nothing or no situation is ever perfect. Best of luck and follow your heart! It will tell you where you belong :)
