A New Chapter | I'm Taking a Short Break from Van Life

OMG- I'm so excited for you! I was a travel nurse almost 20 years ago and my 2nd assignment was Hawaii. I was already over 60 & had never been even after many years on the west coast, USA. You helped me re-live that excitement & anxiety all over again. The language, music, dance, and food was marvelous. I wish you the best of luck. The only problem is you may fall in love with the place & want to stay for another contract... Poor Roo!

Wishing you well. I had to leave my dogs when I went to work in Dubai for 2 years. It was very hard to leave them but I kept thinking I had a great person living in my house looking after them, all their needs were taken care of and it was great to love them up when I returned home.

I went with my friend when he took a health care contract in Hawaii in Maui for 1 year and it was the best year of my life. You will love it!!! I never felt more at peace and never met as many friends as I did when I lived wild and free in Hawaii. Good Luck!!

I switch between Kauai and Maui every year for vacation. I just got back last night from the Big Island instead of Maui because it breaks my heart about lahaina as Maui is not complete without out it. You will love Kauai so much that vacationing there will be a given. I have two Huskies and I spend way too much time watching them on the kennel's video lol.

I did travel contact there years ago and it was the best. Worked at Kapaloni Womens hospital. Had so much fun and toured the island weekly. Best thing you could do. I also didn’t want any regrets . Only bad thing was _ my purse with all my ID got stolen so had to scramble to get everything replaced = esp my drivers license . I got a HI license as was faster than state side. So be careful on crowded buses. But was all ok . Kept extra credit card in suitcase so at least had money. Best of luck

Not many places for you to park in Hawaii anyway. Spaces are tiny and you will miss Rue but feel great that she is safe with family. She is your baby. You’ll probably get bored in Hawaii but if you have a bestie there that is great. People can feel lonely there if alone. Have a good time there, be safe…it may be s bit of a culture shock for you. It only take 3 hrs to drive around the island. 😅 Wait, just saw the canyon so you’re on Kauai. Thats even smaller. Imo, you are on the most beautiful island. They don’t call it the Garden Isle for nothing.
