As exciting as it is to hear about this revolutionary new form of synthesis - I'm most excited to see Jack reunited with Luke from Korg! 😍

Korg! On the Electro-Acoustic Resonator. (There's a name suggestion to start with "E.A.R!") Firstly I love it! Been working on something similar. My suggestions for the finished instrument: Must haves; A full envelope (ADSR) / Real Spring reverb / Filter / LFO. Would be Awesomes; Bucket Brigade Delay that can loop (per note) / Individual attenuation per note (resonator) / cv in per note (for modulation,) tuning (pot with a middle snap) per note. And a manual tamper stick of some kind, (think a guitar tremolo) I love it as is, and can live without some of those, but the ADSR is a must.

If there were a version of the microKorg engine in a physical keyboard form with at least 8 voices, I think it would truly still hold up today. It's nice that the price hasn't substantially increased since launch, if at all really adjusted for inflation, but even for $400-500, 4 voices is quite limiting, and this is coming from someone who got one in 2003 and still owns that same one. The closest I had read at one point in time was supposedly you could chain two MS2000 units together as A-B where they would interpret every other midi note as a note to play (basically one unit plays every even key press and the other every odd), effectively giving you 8 voices if you combine the outputs, but it's been far too long to be able to confirm that.

MK still got it. My first synth which I sold a few years ago. It goes to show that a great digital design can be timeless.

mini keys, lack of control. It should've been the MS2K that survived this long, as it was the superior synth (using the same engine).
@Lespaulman987 Жыл бұрын
@@ntro9347 The MS2000 was also huge, heavy, and prone to broken keys and knobs. I haven't played one without some kind of problem. The Micro was portable, durable, easy to learn, and don't forget every other company copied the form factor. The 2010s were full of cheap micro synths, but the microkorg has stood the test of time.
@ntro9347 Жыл бұрын
@@Lespaulman987 that's anecdotal as I never had an issue with them. I can't say that the plague of micro keys and having less control is a good thing either. But I guess that is par for the course when these days everything is dumbed down to the most common denominator.
