Thanks for all the tips-love the sandpaper in the jewelers saw. I really enjoy your relaxed manner. You show how patience and taking your time pay off. That dragon inlay is beautiful. You’re making me come up with all sorts of ideas, but I don’t have a workshop or any power tools. I’ll have to improvise I guess.

This is probably the best video I've seen on doing fret board inlays. All of your videos are very well done. Thanks for your clarity and excellent production values. BTW, the method I've used for gluing in inlays is to premix wood dust into the glue before applying it. I've used clear epoxy for this so I'm not sure if it would work with super glue. It works very well with epoxy. Thanks again.

Did you draw the design in cad? Or illustrator? When I do my logos, I typically put a centerline, and fret positions going through the logo, so I can easily line it up with the centerline of the fretboard

Hi Daniel, how does aluminum hold up over time? Does it get scratched or show signs of wear from contact with the strings? Thank you.

Your videos are awesome man, great work! Where could I buy a protractor like you have? Handy little tool
@UnquendorGuitars4 жыл бұрын
Hi Justin, Thanks for the compliment. The protractor I use is made by Incra. Here in the Netherlands I can buy it at most mayor tool web-shops But here is an Amazon link for you it might help you on your way to find a store near you. www.amazon.com/PROTRAC06-6-Inch-Precision-Marking-Protractor/dp/B00002255K The protractor is available in both Metric and Imperial so check this before you order so you get the required system.

Daniel, I oftern watch your video as I am building a couple of bass guitars. Very inspiring your way to work and build quality. I have one question... where did you find the marker tool, very close to a protractor? Is that an Incra brand one?

Hi Paolo, Yes it is an Incra protractor. There is an Amazon link in the video description.

@UnquendorGuitars3 жыл бұрын
Hi Guitarman62, I know exactly what you mean. It's very hard having to convince people about the time and effort it takes to build a good guitar and having to defend your pricing and the amount of work and money you've put in.

@UnquendorGuitars4 жыл бұрын
Hey Synic42, Apart from both being stylized Wyverns/Dragons they are quite different but I can see where you're aiming at. I think a Dragon or Wyvern is probably one of the most stylized figures out there so I tried to make sure not to copy any existing designs, but changes are there will be a resemblance somewhere.

Hi Stephen. The brand of my protractor is Incra. Amazon (usually) has them in both Metric and Imperial or just use google to find a seller near you. Also Crimson Guitars sells their version.

Whats the 2 brands pf CA you are using?
@UnquendorGuitars3 жыл бұрын
Hi Cabronismo, The brands I use in this video are "Ever Build" and "Zwaluw/Den Braven", but this varies depending on which store I'm going to when I run out. I always make sure I have three different viscosities though, high, medium and low and I'm not that concerned about which brand it is.

first the sawdust and then the glue worked out for me in the past. this way you have no pockets of only glue. btw. you forgot to put pt.5 into the playlist.
@UnquendorGuitars4 жыл бұрын
Hi Matt. You’re correct. The way I do it has a chance of creating glue pockets, although this hasn’t happened to me yet. I had it the other way around though where the glue didn’t soak all of the dust. Of course you can then reapply more glue. It’s a personal way of doing things I guess. Also thank you for the heads up on the missing episode in the playlist. I will add it ASAP.

'Aloominum'? Why do people from other countries use American-English pronunciations when speaking English? The English don't pronounce it like that and it's their language.
