They should have done two tests: one with the Advantec and another with lead tape to see if the difference they felt was just added weight of the Advantec material.

So happy you guys are enjoying! Just to clarify, our products DO NOT use lead. The technology in our strips and grips use our new patent-pending material that helps reduce vibration and shock during impact.

Unless he matched the racquet to the specs he normally uses, this was a pointless test. Half the comments were about how the weight changed the balance of the racquet, which could be said with any material used to add weight.

can you add a leather grip over an overgrip? Basically peel the grip off the racket to its bare layer, add an overgrip and then a leather grip over it

Their site claims the grip to weigh 22 g, and the strips to weigh 4.8 g, so that would add up to 26.8 g. But Harry weighed the racket in at 298 before and 329 after, for a gain of 31 g. The math doesn't add up, so the product off spec. by about 15 %. How do their QC people not detect this? Sounds like a $75 gamble to me.
@chuckfriebe843

@sebtong
@sebtong 3 жыл бұрын
I believe on site it says .8 grams per strip which would be 3.2 grams total for the strips. I personally use the product and aim for specific weights. In customization people aim for specific weights and balance accordingly, 324 is quite light for some college players and high level talent like coach Andrew. Stringing and the tape used to wrap the grip all have a factor on the weight.

@corradoscire8670
@corradoscire8670 3 жыл бұрын
As a 15 year old who practices tennis 12 hours a day and does tournakents every week or so (its not a flex im just telling you so you understand my level of expirience) im about 6'0" tall i use a heavier racket which is the pro staff 97 v13 with luxilon 4g gold at 42 string tension. It allows me not to get soar or injured and it has great plowthrough and if youre expirienxed like i am you can con control thw ball easily with that frame. Yonex frames especially the vcore force you to use a western semi western grip and basically oblige you to using tospin. If youre like me and you dont use much tospin this is not the racket for you. If youre an aggresive player like me ans volley a lot... this is nkt the racket for you. Thsi racket is for defensive baseliners that use massive amounts of tospin. I demoed this racket and i hated it simply beause it does everything that my playstyle doesnt so its not a match for me.

Interesting. From what I can tell; the worst, negative, insulting comments (it's a scam, bad product etc.) are from players who haven't used it. Seems to me from videos I watch on the strips, players with wrist, elbow, shoulder problems are feeling a positive difference, whereas those without don't notice as much. This tells me there is some merit to this product .btw ( TOO EXPENSIVE SAYS THE GUY WITH THE $150 TENNIS SHOES..LOL)

Kimoni have a similar selection of leather grips and dense lead weights, at less than half the price of these, but you don't get the ridiculous boxes. In fact in one pack of Kimoni Alpha lead strips you get 6x3g (18g), so four times as much lead for about $15. Looks like this is a Vertu product - standard stuff in a 'premium' packaging. One born every minute I guess.

Haha I have a friend who is sponsored by advantec and I am familiar with these guys. It's a 30 dollar grip but apparently it helps dampen your strokes
@djneight
@djneight 3 жыл бұрын
To my understanding the strips and the grip have a dampening property in addition just lead/tungsten strips and leather grip. Price is too much IMO. With lead, you can experiment and then remove and put on another area. These are too expensive to experiment with. Sure you could do the lead first than put the advantec strips but not sure if the results would be the same due to the difference of vibration dampening. My question to Harry is what was the spec of his racquet prior? Same weight and balance?
@mrbenz5072
@mrbenz5072 3 жыл бұрын
$40 for the grip and $35 for the strips. Way over priced, how can you even recommend this crap. Why don't you start advertising $30 dampeners now.
@gianlucajandelli6387
@gianlucajandelli6387 3 жыл бұрын
I think that this "new" tape product is very similar - or perhaps EXACTLY the same - to existing products like Dynamat Extreme or Cascade VMax, practically it's a damping material for stopping noise and vibration in your automobile made by a thin, super sticky butyl rubber bonded to an aluminum alloy skin. Indeed, Advantec never mentions in their literature that their product uses lead.

I brought both when they had a 50% off over the holidays. Really enjoy using the leather grips under an over grip as it makes the bevels so much more pronounced, racket definitely has a different feel to it as well, slightly more dampened but not to the point where you don’t know what’s going on when you make contact with the the ball. Only had a few hits with them as were back in lock down in the uk but was impressed in the short time I got with them.
