I don't understand why judges even set rules if they're not going to follow them. She has clearly stated that exhibits have to be in so long before the hearing and they weren't, but she got on to the lawyer objecting to the exhibits instead of sticking with her procedure. Yeah, in a case like this it might be petty to object to those exhibits, but procedure wasn't followed. If there's an objection then she should be held to the rules she has set in place.

In this case, I honestly believe the mom just wants to realign her children’s schedule with that of her partner and her children to appease her partner. I also believe that dad is probably a bit rough, and probably not as sweet as he tried to come off to me. there is no doubt that he still holds animosity towards his ex-wife for her life choices. any time a spouse cheats on you It’s a lifetime of hurt regardless of how well you think you can handle.

I think Mom's attorney's focus on Dad not agreeing with his wife leaving him to be with a woman was likely _significantly_ influenced by knowledge of the judge's litigation history. I will never understand why men whose wives leave to be with other women and women whose husbands leave to be with other men get so much less sympathy and latitude to be angry. If anything, I always feel worse for them -- at least if they leave for another opposite-sex partner, you probably wouldn't have the same feelings of being used and lied to since the moment you started dating.

I agree that this was an absolute waste of the courts time and I also might have the unpopular opinion on agreeing with dad. As a parent who did week on week off with a Sunday transfer from the time my daughter was 4-18 while she did school cheer, competitive cheer, and gymnastics our Fridays were always hectic and we wouldn’t get home from games especially if they were away until very late. Which would be the same scenario for their oldest son due to band, so then having to try to gather all the things they need for the next 7 days and then go to the “new” home just doesn’t make sense.

This judge is the worst. (I haven't finished watching yet, so it's not because I disagree with whatever ruling she ultimately makes) Why on earth is she allowing allll this testimony about the reasons for the divorce, and all this bashing of the other parent, etc. It's been established from the start that the ONLY issue is what day the exchanges should take place. Testimony should have been limited for all parties, including the counselor, to that question alone. This could have been settled in a half hour tops. I don't know if she just wanted to hear all the salacious gossip or what, but it was all very irrelevant. I have no respect for this judge for encouraging this.

Interesting that a therapist can say that Friday is unanimously the best day for exchanges for every family. So if a parent is out of town, just leave the kids there alone, because Friday is best. Also, just because the parents have different styles, doesn’t make one better than the other. Obviously kids will prefer the parent that doesn’t hold them accountable for anything. Something tells me the mom is paying the therapy bill and this therapist knows where her bread is buttered. Either way it seems insane to pay lawyers to settle this.

@@Skincareslug that's ridiculous. no credible therapist would slant their testimony. the dad knew his kids were seeing her and he never objected to it. he let the mom handle it so she would pay. nothing could've stopped him from being more involved if that's what he wanted. he actually said she got to make that payment as if that was a benefit to her. i admire the way the therapist fought for the kids. i can't imagine how hard it was for her to say the kids were afraid of their father. this whole thing is ridiculous. unless i'm totally missing the point, what would the dad be possibly missing out on Fridays at 5pm? instead he'd rather cut the weekend short and stop all activity on Sunday at 5pm which makes no sense.

For me I want all the craziness to be on one day and not add craziness to a day that doesn't have anything. Also, all the craziness is outside of the house so the only thing that happens is they go to the other house at the end of the day. Most people who travel like the father, they don't travel on Sunday because they want to be able to rest and set up for the work week, the same consideration should be given to the kids. Sundays should be for ensuring that they are ready for the school week. All the families that I know who do week on week off started with Sunday because that is how judges set it up, but within months they realize that it isn't working for their kids and they switch it to a weekday, most of the time Friday or Monday.

Mom wants the exchanges to be the same time so she and partner can both be child free at the same times, I didn't hear anything that convinced me Friday exchanges would be easier for the kids. If anything it sounded like Friday nights are the worst times for the kid in band. The therapist was so focused on trying to prove she was advocating for the kids and not their mom that I had trouble believing her. She seems to have had a lot of conversations with Mom and only one with Dad the entire time she's been seeing the kids. I was really on the fence until it came time to make the judgement and the judge said Mom withdrew the request for the judge to confer with the kids. I can't see how a sound judgement based on what is best for the teenage kids could be made without talking to the kids? But once I heard that Mom didn't want the judge to talk to the kids, I could tell she's pushing the Friday exchange for her own benefit.

What surprises me is the lack of thought and consideration by everyone - including the judge - given to GranBear. This choice to deliberately schedule the exchange at a time when Dad will often not be available puts the onus on GranBear to get to the schools and collect the kids and then to Mom's house to collect their stuff, feed them and get the kids to whatever activities they have, like band for the oldest. Oh my gosh, another Judge that is biased & shouldn’t be in that chair! How many children has she screwed by not being able to follow proper procedures, not being fair & unbiased? Poor father, never had a chance. Judge is busy the whole time they are talking. 😡🙄 Therapist was not needed, said too much they told her, children need to trust someone they can confide in, obviously not Mom, cheated & left, Dad isn’t able to talk, LISTEN to them, school officials is hard to trust most times. Bet the children won’t want to confide in that therapist again! 🤦‍♀️
