Deepak, Not sure how to approach you.... I have few things to bring to your notice..... In Andhra and Tamilnadu.... Every day abuse for Hindus and their gods are common ... However, worst things are 1. Building temples and claiming them as churches with a cross symbol 2. You might be aware of "kaamakshi vilakku" .... not sure what it is called in telugu or english.... Christian's started having cross symbol on this lamp .... 3. In shivaji nahar, Bangalore.... I saw a church which has "dvaja sthambam" pillar which we have in front of our temples 4. Also in Bangalore.... in few Christian dominated areas .... they started writing on the walls "Om yaesuvae namaha" How are we going to tackle this..... ?????

We must have one language of national conversation which is not understood by the whole world. So that we can protect ourselves from what is going on in the world. It can be Hindi or Sanskrit. Please don't impose your language as national, as it will only create conflict. Please have a common sense and a open heart. The point of language is unity, When are united we are strong.

1.I understand Learning and mastering the mother tongue helps us connect more with our history, civilization, literature. 2. I would say mother Tongue + English be main medium in academics. I see the over dominance of English in most schools. Instead of eliminating English completely we can take steps to make a child to have a mastery in both his/her language and English before he/she completes schooling. 3. I think removing English will be disastrous. I'm Tamil. Suppose I would like to communicate with a Gujarati, English is a good binding language. Already people are lacking certain basic English skills . if the new policy does away with English, then I fear if that would be a threat to Indian unity in some levels and a weapon for separatists. 4. Without English knowledge, it would be a real hard thing to go through past to recent research papers. Translating them is time consuming process. With the entire globe we may get disconnected. CONCLUSION: let English have the place it has right now and let us push our mother tongues to have equal places.

Like worship of Shiva, vishnu, shakti, kaali, kartikeyan comes from dravidian culture nd similarly indra, surya, saraswati, brahma r indo-aryan traditions. Nd also there r many dravidian elements in indo-aryan languages nd vice versa for dravidian languages. But from d past 70 years nehruvian ideology inspired with western bootlicking, communism nd low esteem on our rich culture which resulted in d radicalisation of Hindus also due to lack of their knowledge on their own holy scriptures. That being said its practical to create all in to Sanskrit which will unite all the Indian states.. by appointing retired profs and scientist, technical experts in all the fields...but not any sooner....definitely its possible to make medium of instruction in one language across in india...

Instead of spending crores of rupees for Hindi prachara samithi, should spend on teaching every Indian our old culture rich Sanskrit. Britishers intentionally kept Indian's away from Sanskrit to steal our knowledge keep us away from knowledge. Example every formula like, value of PI, pythogorus theoram, Newton's law of motion documented in Sanskrit in the form of Sholkas in very ancient times itself. But Britishers stole them from Sanskrit and projecting it as they invented it.

this is a questionable perspective. 1. whatever technical knowledge each region has, no one has documented it and its not uniform - and this cant be an excuse to make sanskrit the national lang saying all available texts are in that lang. most of the texts are gone and whats left is what white and non-white scholars transliterated. since its proven that western technology has accomplished more, better to learn english and learn that or those texts in local languages. then theres the issue of transacting with the outside world - english is easier and alredy in use - why reinvent the wheel 2. this learned man should fight to get education back to state list from concurrent and drive policies to respect states and federalism. 3. hindi-guys are riding roughshod on the south with no one able to do anything. State govts are also more guilty coz they have no moral level to stand up to the center and ensure importance for state language. all central govt jobs exams are in hindi or english and north indians aim to grab all the central govt jobs all over the country while the southern state people suffer. all state govts should ensure exams are in respective langs also and 90% salaried central govt jobs should go to locals. 4. ridiculous amounts allotted to sanskrit should stop or all langs should get equal amounts so state lang univ. can open , give more jobs to state-lang-medium educated people. local language and english should be prominent with 3rd lang being any foreign language - we have to prepare to be global citizens - or hindi if people choose it, they will learn hindi anyway if they have to migrate or transact and more importantly, if theres enough opps. in every state , people wont even need to migrate.

Apart from commansense n general observation even scientific Researchs show that acquiring education in foreign language requires several times extra efforts than that in native language. Today the harsh reality is that our students who studied in English medium schools neither have the proficiency in hindi or mother tongue nor can they speak english fluently n articulately (hardly go beyond hi hhru in eng)thanks to Nehru😂 Our Education system seriously need urgent overhaul....if the current dispensation can't revist n revise the system n remove the systemic flaws then who? English is a language and it is not a sign of intelligence. No where in the world ( except India) it is considered as intelligence. The truth is those opposing English are unable to learn one more language. As simple as that. Telugus do not want to learn Tamil, Tamils vice versa, and the list goes on. Any language can be spoken very fluently if one knows few thousand words. If one can memorize few thousand words of any language that becomes a skill, if it is English, it is even bigger skill. The economic opportunities that abound with English are unlimited. India at the current status can not and will not be able offer Technical education in local langugaes. Imagine Anatomy being translated to Telugu/ Tamil. Extensor carpi radialis longus- the name of tendon which is on the lateral (radial side) and it is attached to carpal bones, and it has a long belly. All the function is implied in the name of the tendon. Now we are struggling to call Train / cell phone in our own local languages. How do we build vocabulary for these complicated stuff in Medicine /Engineering? Now if we do, one who does the education in Telugu, can not function in Chennai, even though he is born and raised in Tirupathi few hours from Chennai. If one is so restricted to one geographical area, who want to pursue that kind of education? The argument that students of Medicine and Engineerinng in English medium are trained to serve the people of USA and UK is baseless. 80% of these stay in India, and they are perfectly fine, speaking the local languages and English aplomb, no issues at all. The argument that we need to preserve our languages - is same as preserving Ayurveda, try do that when your father has heart attack, and try giving some Ashwagantha or natrum moore.

I think the following criteria should be used in language case: Divide into regions, e.g. North Region consisting of language Hindi Punjabi Ladakh region lang.. East Region consisting of language Odia, Bengali, etc North East languages. West Region consisting Gujarati and Marathi, and lang. of Goa (I don't know what it is) South Region consisting of Telgu Tamil Malayalam and Kannada Now do the following change in education system. Two language is to be selected for studing, both the language must be from different region. Frow Class 1 to 8 these 2 lang. are compulsary. Introduce English and Sanskrit as language in class 3 and teach it upto class 10 Mode of Sanskrit( Devnagri Script) since in that only earlier scriptures were written. At class 9 choose one lang. out of the 2 (which were taught upto class 8) In class 11 choose any two among the remaining 3 lang. or in place of english one can choose computer language (python C++ JAVA C etc.) But with english one can't choose computer lang. Other option in class 11 12 don't teach language at all. If somebody wants to suggest something they are invited....

Replacement of English is not possible atleast for few centuries it is impossible (as far as I know) There is nothing wrong in studying english (science and maths) should be taught in english only (modern science) but that doesn't mean you shouldn't know the terms in your native language, word meaning must be in all the language that you are studying. Maths should be taught in area specific language upto class 3 after that in english Similarly upto class 8 Science should be taught in area specific language after than in english. Regarding social science also same as science i.e. after class 8 either in english or sanskrit(if possible) in social science also geography must be in english throughout. Student must be able to translate the sentences grammatically correct into all the languages he/she was taught into. Taking into account what you said about sanskrit We must use some common script for writing otherwise it will impossible to implement it so let the expert choose any common script. I think the priority should be given to the languge in which most of the vedas are written. Hate of Tamil Nadu and Kerala are man made based on that Aryan Invasion crap (automatically communists are responsible) which is a total nonsense. First nullification of such thinking is necessary. Already languages are given thejr proper position and respect as per above rule. None is taking their language away infact sanskrit is introduced later (i.e. in class 3) in the ladder. If any modifications required do suggest.

@ರಾಹುಲ Rahul First of all sanskrit was actually taught a long time ago so it will take time again to reestablish it (atleast 25 years) Again reduce the slot of english don't eliminate the whole language. As I have mentioned in the rules english teaching will start at later stage (i.e. class 3) In order to eliminate any language 1st reduce its importance at the global level then think further. Language will survive if above rules are applied thoroughly. Now sanskrit is mother of language Yaa its true no doubt in that. But still with time its importance reduces and new languages are born. Howsoever great one language may be it is ultimately the impure form of sanskrit. But still new languages form and no one can stop it from forming up. Sanskrit itself got changed many a times. Pre Vedic sanskrit may be considered as the pure form of sanskrit. After that comes the Panini's Sanskrit. And the current modern sanskrit. Scriptures were either in very old sanskrit (especially vedas) which is very very very difficult to understand even now. Commentaries of Sâyanachâya are used to understand that. Even the chanting of vedic mantras are different from that of vedic period. Now a days chanting is no doubt great but it is different from those times. Now there are some problems with sanskrit: One word can have many meanings and many words can imply to same thing. Meanings depend on different factors. Thats why sometimes it is very difficult to understand shlokas/mantras without a proper teacher. UPANISHADS' mantras were understood differently by Shankaracharya, Ramanujachary and Madhvacharya (unfortunately all three came at different times otherwise the problem would have sorted out by debates) Becouse of that Advaita, Vishishtadvaita and Dvaits philosophies of vedanta came. Now if the probleb of many meaning nd similar type if sorted out with the help of modern sanskrit then its good. Slowly shift to sanskrit in common platform talks. Now no more further clarification by my side... Lets see what will happen in future.

@rsr201

I agree completely with Mr. Sai but I would like to make an important addition- imparting education in various Indian languages in their respective states WITHOUT making Sanskrit mandatory at least till secondary School would be disastrous. India is an ancient civilization and its linguistic diversity, though something that makes us proud, is unfortunately the reason why people from one part of India may not feel well connected to people from other parts of the country because there is no sense of commonness except for the fact that English is something that can be understood by all. Although I believe a foreign language should not be the reason for our unity, I think doing away with English as an instructional medium in education WITHOUT making students learn Sanskrit, which is the actual cause of our unity, we may be further widening the divide, and not bridging it. If Sanskrit is made mandatory at least till class 10, what you say can be actually realised without any negative effects.

@ರಾಹುಲ Rahul of course Sanskrit would play the role of a link language and not a common language. And I don't mean to say Sanskrit should be taught at the cost of regional languages, but should be taught ALONG WITH regional languages as a tool to make young Indians aware of their common civilizational roots.

While it is good to promote the language of the state, it would give rise to many problems. For example, a person studying in Gujarati medium transfers to Tamil Nadu where Tamil is the medium taught, then it would give lots of problems for that person to adjust. Also, I agree languages like Tamil should be promoted and wouldn't like it to be lost like Sanskrit has.

Totally agree with Mr. Sai Deepak. This is exactly the reason why many Indian native & even officially recognized languages are dying. Most of the European countries do not have English as medium of instructions, they give priority to their mother tongue. English can be learnt as a language and need not be the language for instruction or medium for teaching. There are external exams for English such as Cambridge which can be taken up separately and schools can facilitate these exams.

Totally agree. The revival of Bharatiya languages is absolutely necessary. Will also bring a revival of the pluralistic bharatiya sanskriti. As I understand that a language is a creation of culture and not vice versa, similarly if each and every language is revived the organic nature of the Indic culture/s will also revive and the silly conflict created by the monocled political minded abrahmics will also be countered effectively.

You are wrong. Those who study in their mother tongue cannot go to other states for employment. Our unity will be destroyed. Regionalism has already grown . Karnataka wants only Kannadigas, Maharashtra wants only Marathis, Haryana wants only Haryanvis, but , where will an Indian go ?. English and mother tongue should be compulsory upto IVth standard ,and, after IVth standard, medium of instruction should be English throughout India. Otherwise, India will break up. HInduism and English are the two pillars of Indian society. If one is broken, India will collapse as one nation. Don't forget what happened in Maharashtra where U.P. wallahs and Biharis were asked to leave Mumbai. The day is not far off when we will see similar situation in other states.

Alongside of encouraging regional state languages we should invade English and Urdu impregnated Hindi with Samskritam and Bharat's native languages like Tamil, Bengoli etc and other age old languages. We should make sure that finally the mere grammar and basic vocabulary of English and Muhal bred Urdu Hindi remains just as a slave to serve us Indians.

I have done my education in Malayalam. now also I think in Malayalam when I work but I use English to communicate. People going and settling in other country is their choice, We (INDIA) should give more attractions to people to stay back. Unemployment caused not becuase of Educational system, It is the failure of Govt .. especially this Govt. We are not a poisiton of Job inflation. We dont have job oppertunities. That Govt should fix it . Each family should promote their mother tounge which will gradually improve the usage of local languages.

Cannot agree completely, not practical. It is not so simple as you say. You said about bridge course for those who want to out of the confines of his state. But what about those who already out of the state? Who will teach them their mother tongue properly forget about being language of instruction? What if they want to go back to their home state or another state with different language? Don't you think here also we need a bridge course to learn mother tongue (I'm not talking about spoken language at home, and there are those who don't even know to speak in their mother tongue and have adopted another tongue, friend tongue, teacher tongue, hehe) or a bridge course to learn the language of the new state he is migrating to? Already we have too much pride in the mother that India is on the verge of disintegration. Just talk about oldest language and see the fight that erupts. There has to be a different language policy not just mother tongue, English, Hindi etc. Multiple choices should be available.

The language issue is the "urgent need" to be considered by the govt of India. Every language of this country has its own rich tradition and history. Starting from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Katch to 7 sister's of NorthEast. According to me the 1) people of this country first get rid of their blind love towards English language. Yes English is required not at the cost of our native languages. 2) Start loving each language of this great land and place your mother tongue in your heart. 3) Teach your kids its mother tongue. Speak to your kid in your mother tongue. 4) Let your kid learn English also, with mindset of "My mother tongue I should never forget" 5) Please Please have pride in this great land history, language, culture. 6) The proud citizens of this country has the highest responsibility to save the languges which took birth in this land.

I couldn't resist wading into this language policy argument, as I have for long believed that India is far too culturally and linguistically diverse to adopt any one of its native languages as a 'national' language. In fact, many in Northern parts of India feel that Hindi should be the de facto 'rashtra bhasha' which I strongly disagree with, despite being proficient and fluent in Hindi. India is indeed a very unique country, with perhaps more cultural & linguistic diversity than the whole of Europe. So, just as Europe will never have one common language because of the pride every country in Europe takes in its own native language, India will never have any one language as its 'national' language. Anybody who tries to impose Hindi on the entire country will be disrespecting n belittling the importance of every other regional language. In this regard, I find Article 351 of India's Constitution to be maliciously inserted, urging Hindi to be promoted pan-India gradually to become the 'national' language. So, I disagree with J Sai Deepak that one should be educated in one's own mother tongue, to be able to grasp the concepts better. The fact is, there are books on higher education only in English n a few in Hindi, but negligible in vernacular languages in India. I don't see how one can become an engineer or a doctor by referring to only vernacular texts. Besides, it's beneficial for Indians to learn in English, as those who aspire to go abroad for higher / specialized education will invariably have to do so in English. In fact, it will be very tough for a doctor who's educated in, say Gujarati, to practice in another State where his/her patients don't know Gujarati at all. So, while it's all very well to become torchbearers for native languages in India, realistically, thanks to our colonial past, English will remain our link language and the preferred medium of (higher) education. Perhaps Sanskrit should've been adopted as our link language soon after 1947, as most Indian languages are derived from Sanskrit, which is also believed to be one of the most suitable languages for computing.
