Please mention TR staff member Dave Scotson who died this month. A great fellow indeed.

At the time of recording it was the family's wish for privacy, but he had a lovely service at Aberystwyth Crematorium on Wednesday followed by a wake at Wharf Station. A great man and a loyal member of the TR.

Yep, Tal-y-llyn's overhaul is finished. All he needs is to get his boiler certificate renewed and he will be back in service in the springtime.

Best wishes from A W&W pairing for your new job Graham. No doubt myself and Hugh will find an excuse to visit the Talyllyn in due course.

Really excited for new things on the horizon. Although it seems like there won't be an Awdry extravaganza this year seeing as there usually announced in December.

Just a silly little question: is "seeked" how people traditionally say "sought" in Welsh English, or is "seek" so archaic now that you've lost the cultural memory of the irregular past form? If it's the latter, it reminds me of a time I saw a sign in an Automobile Museum here in New York that said "Please excuse the conditions. The snow is reeking havoc on our roof." I wonder what the smell of havoc is? Maybe mold in this case, lol. We don't use "wreak" all the often, so whoever wrote the sign obviously wasn't even aware it was a different word from "reek." I couldn't help but take out my red teaching pen, which of course I keep on me at all times, and correct the thing.

@@nick-c lol, ty, I have a bad habit of missing my n't's sometimes. When you're typing and retyping, changing words, those little buggers can get lost, and since their absence by definition negates your sentence, it can really mess up the writing. If only my teacher training made me spot my own typos as automatically as I spot other's, hahaha.
