a NEW Mini High Route in the Sierra | North Lake to South Lake High Route

About 30 miles of almost entirely off-trail travel from North Lake to South Lake, through prime Sierra scenery. I had the idea for this route when hiking the SHR years ago and thinking it a shame that the route stayed on the JMT through this area when there’s so much awesome terrain near the crest. This route can be plugged into the Roper route to make it more adventurous and also works as a standalone long weekend adventure. Special thanks to Jay (Armstrong) and Keaton (Sriracha Rocket) for helping scout this route. Difficulty is similar to that of Roper’s Sierra High Route and the views certainly match the effort required.
