A New Mini PC for the TV!

I have the same set up... Mini PC for the TV. Here's why... Supports TWO monitors. (Great for security camera or sports score updates, etc.) More stable than an Android box. Much more responsive than Fire sticks, tetc. Ability to install internal HDD drive for stuff I watch a lot. Kodi works great on Windows. Brave web browser for ad free KZbin. Latest Windows OS, not aging Android rubbish. The set up requires a little more setting up... multi monitor set up, mouse cursor speed and size, etc. Get a good air mouse and you're there! Once all set up, you'll never use an Android box again.

This is interesting getting pc nor laptop is expensive. We had a HD tv support hdmi port I hope I can get one of those someday😢

Maybe not a problem for you but if you install Linux you "can't" get 4k Netflix (or Disney Plus etc. etc.), although I believe there are workarounds. I have a Shield TV Pro, which is turning into a circus with the updates, and I was interested in one of these mini PCs to replace it but every time I browse I keep upping the spec/price until I snap back to reality and close all the tabs.

Yeah, you can't stream anything above 720p from Netflix et al on Linux because Linux can't run Widevine L1 DRM. A possible work around is to run a Chromium based browser with the correct certificate in Wine.

I did not know that! I'd prefer 4K if possible. I have TV apps, but a backup computer never hurts.

I don't know why but these little PCs are so cool. I use a 5700g with 32gbs of ram. Best computer Ive ever had. Happy to see you are still making videos man!

They really are so much fun! I can't resist when I see a good deal. I just wish I'd grabbed 2 when they were on sale. :-) Sounds like a 5700G and 32 Gigs would so extremely well.
