Mountain looks good! I might have missed it. But I hope you have some kind of access openings under the mountain. That’s the location where all of my trains typically like to derail!😂

They ALWAYS seem to have issues in those spots don’t they!? Luckily havnt had that problem with this one yet 🤞🏻🤞🏻 but have on the other side of the room. I can access it through the window behind it luckily, but hopefully won’t have to.

About time! Soon as I saw this, I grabbed a cup of joe , and, as usual, was greatly impressed. I appreciate your frank explanation of your thoughts and processes. The results are fantastic. While the sculpta mold rock is sharper and more scale, the foam is more than adequate representing rock. This journey you have taken us with the progression of your layout has been nothing less than stellar.

Very cool! The mountain is excellent and a fine addition to the layout and it was nice to see the process that you used. That is neat use for the expanding foam. I've used it for sealing around my basement windows, as the old caulking had deteriorated, but your's is certainly a cool adaptation . The signal is fine. The yellow over green is just an Approach Medium, in NORAC parlance. You could take the inside signal head off, if you wish. Just like on the prototype railroads, you see cantilever masts that are built for multiple signals, with only one head and a place for another, that is unused. Either way, the layout is looking great. An excellent update and video, as always.

Nice job, Zach. You've working a ton of hours, for sure. The mountain has come into its own, with lots great natural features. I must admit that the Hydrocal rock face is really super. The foam rock looks to me more like volcanic ash, but that's also a natural surface. The ground cover is very good, vibrant and natural! Inspired guard rail for the mountain road, too! Thanks for this super update!

A suggestion for the rock wall. Spray the foam and place the mold over what you sprayed. Would that give a rock look?
@CountryBunkersTrains10 күн бұрын
It would still be a lot of work, and not sure that it would work in that manner. I don’t think the foam would be able to hold the rock molds in place when sprayed/curing. I’m sure there’s a better method with other materials out there though??

This looks Excellent! Very nice work!! Now that the tunnels are all closed off, how do you access them if you need to clean track or correct a derailment?
@CountryBunkersTrains10 күн бұрын
Thank you!! I have an “access port” through the window if needed, but hopefully won’t need to use it 🤞🏻 I know better though… the trains always have a problem in the hardest to reach spots! 🤦🏻♂️😂

Looks awesome Zack. How though do you clean track and get access if derailment under mountain ?
@CountryBunkersTrains10 күн бұрын
Thank you! For track cleaning, I still use a Mr. Clean pad under a car with some alcohol- kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWSzZWSFiauMY7csi=nmsKk4Wmuypr3k3s To access the interior of the mountain, I can get in through the window behind it. I have a couple removable pieces of foam to block out the light and once moved, able to get in there. Luckily havnt had that problem with this one yet! 🤞🏻🤞🏻 have had to do it on the other side of the layout though… not fun… 🤦🏻♂️ LOL

I think your mountain is nice on top but the rock area seems unrealistic to me. Maybe adding trees and people might help. Ps the catalog wasn’t that bad. At least it’s better than MTh. Oh that’s right no catalog anymore from them.
@CountryBunkersTrains11 күн бұрын
Thank you! Your 100% right! That’s why i mentioned trees being on order towards the end. It is very bland at the moment and needs some sprucing up. I don’t mind weekly/monthly announcements of new product over a yearly catalog so much, but I can’t get behind this new catalog. Especially for a 125th anniversary… $1200 MSRP for a conventional set when I can get the original & cars for a couple/few hundred bucks? I’m good. Not to mentioned the $100 price increase on the Base 3 that hasn’t even been out for a year yet…. No thanks…. Glad others are willing to pay the price to keep the big L in business, but not I….
@tedkos316811 күн бұрын
@ your right the prices are getting out of control. There were some interesting items but I agree that I’m not buying. Just nice that they put out a catalog. Wish it had something priced right and worth it. Keep up the videos. Thanks
