A New Roller Coaster Update At Busch Gardens! | Tigris Construction Tour, Gwazi Demolition & More!

In today's vlog we head to Busch Gardens Tampa to check on the construction progress of Tigris, the all new launching coaster! We had the opportunity to attend a Tigris hard hat construction progress tour. We also checked on the demolition of Gwazi, a wooden coaster that once dueled in the park. We were able to ride the Skyway and get some cool views of the coasters and rides around Busch Gardens. I also had a pretzel hotdog for lunch, which was pretty okay. And then I rode the steam train before heading home. This was a great trip to Busch Gardens, we got to see a lot! Thank you for watching and we'll see you tomorrow with a new vid!

I love Busch Gardens, grew up in Tampa and worked there in 1975 at what is now called the Zagora Cafe, I remember going as a kid in the 60's when it was free entry because all there was, was the gardens and the only pay part was the Brewery tour. I always go at least twice to Howl-O-Scream every year and always have an annual pass.

Gwazi is being converted into a steel hybrid coaster by Rocky Mountain Construction. It will utilize a new all steel lift structure and will be over 200ft tall with a 91 degree drop.

Tim, please look up RMC. They are not tearing Gwazi down, they are turning it into a hybrid coaster. That’s why they are only removing the track in most parts and not the support structure.

Matt Bramande The crash of Steel Vengeance wasn’t that bad, it just was in the Station and since the incident it is running well. It is the biggest and one of the best RMCs so why shouldn’t he take it as an example? Nevertheless all RMCs are phenomenal coasters so they are all representative. Tim has already ridden at least one RMC I know of, Outlaw Run at Silver Dollar City.

Last time I went to Busch Gardens Sheikra was being constructed, Sand Serpent was called Cheetah Chase and Gwazi was functioning... Might be time to plan a new trip.

We got all the way to Busch from Orlando one year on vacation and had forgotten our 14day pass .busch gardens were amazing - after a brief exchange in which they thought I wanted them to print new tickets for me (which they wouldn’t) they finally said “oh you just want to come in , well of course you can “ . So we got to get in even without our tickets . So I don’t know why they gave you such a hard time Tim . That’s a shame isn’t it ? Love all yr vlogs. Thank you again !

Being a Busch Gardens AP holder myself, each month you get something. Usually in June or July you may get a Lanyard. In Dec it's an Ornament. When you go throughnthe gates, head towards the Outpost and they will let you know, or you can go onto the website and find out.

Like others have said, we’d love to see you visit Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. We have a lot to do here including a water park, and Colonial Williamsburg. And be sure to check the kiosk for pass holder gifts every month. Last you there was a free Food and Wine Section during the festival which is late May through June at BG Williamsburg. Great time to visit.

Interesting, for Great Adventure in NJ, their pass is in the App for that guest, but they also use a finger print scanner at the entrance. Coupon;s for something liek that $10 would be mentioned in the passholder email newsletter and would be in the App's Coupon section. Fun day! thank you for taking us Tim & Jenn. Gwazi has been both rumored and leaked to be getting redone by Rocky Mountain Construction. Rumor is it will be 212 feet tall, have a 91 Degree first drop, no longer dual, and use the original lift areas as hills for the rest of the ride. Busch Gardens has also copyrighted the name Twisted Tiger for 2020 so that's why they are taking the coaster apart partial, and systematically.

FYI about the passes at BG. If you redeem your voucher and get your pass, you can store that pass with an app in your phone and that scans at the gate. I use Stocard and I've always had my BG passes, including my employee one in the app. It scans from my Apple Watch or from the phone. Works every time and I never need to take my actual pass with me.
