Dear Christian! I’ve always been a huge fan of yours. You’ve been one of many inspirations for my own projects, and that’s why I created this library called Some Pads And Stuff. I made it just for fun in less than a day, and people seem to like it, which is all that matters. Fun fact - I never even used the library after I made it, haven’t opened it once, haha :) I never could have imagined that one day you would notice me or my work. This truly feels like a dream come true. I love you so much!

Recently I’ve fallen down a similar rabbit hole investigating the different types of sounds that my own kitchenware can make. It started off as a nerdy physics project, trying to figure out what properties influenced different aspects of the sound, but the more I played around with the glasses that had multiple resonant frequencies, the more I got distracted by how much I loved the slightly dissonant intervals. Sooner or later my music side took over and my little science experiment turned into “how could you make an instrument with this?” Like you said at the beginning of the video though, I knew it would just sound bad, and I’ve been trying(completely unsuccessfully) to think of a way to capture the feel of the overtones without ruining the sound for a while now, so this video is actually perfect for me. This technique is so cool and I hope we can see more of its use soon

This is exactly that kind of videos of you that I like most (and, to be honest, I missed a little in the recent past). A little nerdy, geeky and truly inspirational at the same time. Creating something new and beautiful.

Dude, that's genius....I'm getting all sorts of crazy ideas now. I tried it with bandpass filters and different samples....works like a charm when played. Even if the samples were in different keys 😊👌

The dogs are thirsty and want to know when they can have the doggie bowl back. This video made me laugh a lot. I also love sampling, but immediately know what will be rubbish, and it's disappointing. "Ooooh such a lovely sound, won't sample well!"

The pricey glass sounds amazing for dissonant music and suspense/horror/drama bed. It's all about context eh :) It doesn;t "play/track" as well across the keyboard, but pitch it down and maybe add some attack, stretch it, and you've got some nasty tones, run through a bit of distortion, delay, compress it, ooof. Lovely

Yup, I thought it could be used for atmospheric stuff. May not suit Axel Foley, but I reckon Ghosts by Japan would work :)

I did something similar with a crosswalk beeping a few years ago. I was able to remove the street / traffic noise in RX so I can use the pure beeping tone as a synth. Rx has seriously saved tonssss of old samples from the past 15 years for me.

The complex wine glass may not be useful for what *you* want it to do. But if you use it for what *it* wants to do, it'd be quite lovely.

Sounds incredible, but is it just me, or does it sound like a handpan? A mean, incredible how you get from a posh wine glass to a handpan, but it does sound like that, no?

Sounds amazing! Did you do a video on Izotope as part of the sampling process or can you (or anyone here in the community) recommend a good video on the youtubes for utilizing this when creating your samples?

I say again: I realy prefer "Audio Ink". Ink is the liquid to write stories. Ink is good. And in our unfortunate times "incubators" make us think about surrogate mothers, buying childern, etc... Bad things.
