Now that's the type of innovation I like to see, instead of more random angles and more "innovative" ways to obstruct intake fans on an "airflow" case Edit: One thing I'd love to see in these tests, is to do a "best possible setup" test. You've run 8 different tests, yet none were with both bottom and side intake (with top and back exhaust), which i found surprising, as that's where I'd imagine the seperation for the gpu would really help, and also (since it's aimed at enthusiasts) is what I'd imagine the most common setup would be. Of course that means it's not comparable to a flux pro with 6 fans, but as a consumer, I woudn't mind the extra $ for 10 fans compared to 6 fans on a 200$ case, and that's the layout I'd be most likely to choose.

after years of watching your videos, your quality has increased so much that I finally decided to subscribe to your channel by the way: to improve the cooling performance, you can double the plastic ventilation duct with spacers and add a second layer... the "radiated " (infrared) waste heat then cannot seep through the cover if the lowest side-mounted fan pump its air into the gap as insulation, for this you would have to form an inlet that sends a large part of the sucked-in air in there

Yet Another Fishtank? Yes...but a much-improved version. In truth, I absolutely love a case where attention was paid to the internal flow dynamics. It's such a rarity these days. I've had enough of the 'lets fill the case panels with fans and hope for the best' attitude that is so prevalent. This is one case that I actually like. If I was building a relatively straighforward system then this case would definitely high on the shortlist and quite possibly at the top as, at least to my mind, it makes the most cooling capability of the air moving within. It's cetainly not perfect and could do with a few tweaks, but it's far better than a case that makes no attempt to control airflow. Great video, GN.

I love the engineering-focused mindset and design philosophy that went into this case. A fan configuration that occurred to me when you brought up the VESA mount might actually resolve the GPU lower exhaust issue when using the standard V-GPU configuration with the redirection panel. Let's say someone installed a tablet or secondary screen to the right of the motherboard, or leaves the drive caddies in place, but leaves space for a 120mm or 140mm exhaust fan on the bottom. If the lower 'exhaust' fan on the left side was swapped to intake , it could help direct lower GPU exhaust air to the right and out the side of the case without too directly affecting the air pathways in the upper CPU cooler area.
@cppctek8 сағат бұрын
I really love this case! But let’s be real, not many will be using a 4070 ti or an air cpu cooler with this case. I’d love to see high end cases tested with high end hardware like 4090’s to see what’s the worst case scenario if you’re using the best hardware. Also I’d be willing to bet 90% of people will use an aio for cpu cooling also Thanks for the super detailed review and animations ! I really love this so much. I just really want to see more detailed airflow animations when you’re using high end hardware with a high end case. If I’m spending 270$ on a case I won’t cheap out on anything. I’ve bought several 250-400$ cases before and always will use whatever the best of the best at the time in them. What suxks is when I do that and the temps are worse than advertised or reviewed because they were not tested or advertised to work with high end hardware. One would only assume a 270$ case would perform better than a 150$ case but in my experience price doesn’t mean performance anymore.

Further, your case reviews are unquestionably the best right now. Amazing review, as always. As an enthusiast, I would like to suggest one thing I would LOVE to see in reviews of cases - especially expensive ones (important suggestion at the end of this comment): Pick a good (best) fan model for all usual sizes (so 120 and 140 realistically, perhaps 160, 180, 200mm in the longer run) and for each case, try to achieve best thermal and acoustic results while using an unlimited number of aforementioned fans while using a standardized set of top-tier/hot parts (mostly GPU and CPU). And do this for vertical and horizontal GPU option, maybe with air/AIO CPU cooling (a total of 4 options, with a standardized air/aio cooler of course). My rationale is: 1. When building a PC that uses one of the most expensive components (CPU/GPU), I can see myself spending extra even on a large number of top tier (i.e. Noctua) fans to achieve the best results. 2. I see this as the best and possibly the only way to make a relevant comparison of what is achievable with every particular case. I think inclusion of both vertical and horizontal GPU options is important, because at this tier of spending, a desire to display components is pretty common. 3. This fashion of reviewing may encourage case manufacturers: a) to offer their cases, at least optionally, without fans - something I think would be beneficial to all consumers. I don't think I speak only for myself when I say I would prefer to pay less for the case and not face the dilemma between compromising on thermal/acoustic performance and wasting money on included fans if I'm going to replace them anyways. b) to focus on what they do best instead of throwing another set of mediocre fans at consumers. c) to experiment more with new designs as we can see here in HAVN HS 420 I realize this is a lot of work, especially if you were to do this for every clone of Lian Li o11 on the market. Therefore, it might be a good idea to either: a) do this only in reviews of the best and/or most innovative cases b) once in a while do a showdown video, where you would pick several best and/or most innovative cases from past reviews and try to achieve the best performance with each one. I can see a lot of potential with this format, i.e. every member of your team gets 1 or 2 or 3 of the best performing cases (picked at random) and competes against the others in getting the best results with them, possibly with some fun bets. EDIT: additional idea for a video: (possibly get a 3d printing sponsor), take some big case with lots of room and go to town with 3d printer making all kinds of shrouds/air guides and see if you can achieve a meaningful improvement in thermal results

I'm specifically subscribed for the obscure geometric shape content. Top tier stuff.

By far the best review yet. Awesome job and congrats!

One thing I may add is that I would love some separation between “Fish tank” design cases vs more standard builds in the thermal and noise comparisons. Maybe it could be an extra slide?

This is really cool! I'm glad you took the time to go in depth with this one, it's interesting enough to be worth it. Big thumbs up on the "standardized in class" approach, the 3 fans were good for entry-level cases but become almost irrelevant with expensive cases like this. Also love the airflow animations you've been doing recently. I'm always amazed at how accurate the 3d models are! We are in a great period for cases once again, with many interesting new ideas and a lot of smaller brands bringing some heavy hitters.

SO MANY COLORED ARROWS ❤ Only GN would go this length for indepth analysis. Thanks Steve!

Nice to see something new once in a while. I'm looking forward to seeing what they bring in the future.

Case looks crazy, especially the degree of angle of the bottom ones and dual fans top and bottom at the back

Love the school of thought and innovation in this case.

The mechanical design on this case is pretty incredible. Realistically, I don't need a new case, but this one has me reconsidering.

I have been using watercooling but this case got me excited for air cooling. Amazing concept and love the details about the cable routes too.

24:40 We need a separate category to only compare cases with a Vertical mount GPU. Given the most novel feature of this case is the airflow design with a vertical GPU, it would make the most sense to compare it against other cases with a vertical GPU. Ironically it's not hard to perform better than the HS240 with a vertical GPU because a single side intake pointed directly at the GPU will massively improve GPU thermals, but since most high end cases use a glass side panel it's possible they're all handicapped in that specific way.

This seems a big first step towards something interesting, though I don't know near enough about fluid dynamics for it to be much beyond a gut feeling, doesn't feel like it's there yet, but certainly promising. I am here for the build quality and QoL choices, though, I do love a wheeled side panel, and magnet closure for a pathological tinkerer is pretty appealing. Thanks for the in-depth coverage team!
