I once thought of doing something similar because I have a tendency to leave the browser with at least 30-50 tabs of clips. And when I thought I've caught up, it became 60+ fresh new clips, so I thought about trying to just stick to one tab, then try to find that other interesting clip through recommendations. Of course, when I finally found it, there's even more interesting clips on the list. The hardest challenge of this is when someone suggested a very small indie vtuber as the end, like maybe they're new, rebranded or simply rarely streams because of their own circumstances. So I guess it need a little additional rule of "the clip(s) do exist on youtube". Like maybe there really is a vtuber called Ronald McJiggles somewhere out there, but if there's no clips on youtube, then it's just impossible to finish it.

@@VenomSeeker Polka is wrong because she followed PEMDAS wrong, which I don't blame her for. PEMDAS has a hierarchy that, for some reason, schools don't teach properly. The first and second levels of PEMDAS is, of course, the parentheses and the exponents respectively. That much is unchanged. However, for the third level is both Multiplication and Division, while the fourth level is both Addition and Subtraction. What this changes is that, in any given equation, if two arithmetic operations are of the same level, their order in which you solve them is dependent on which operation came first. For example: 8/2*4 Division came first, and then Multiplication. In this case, you don't multiply 2 by 4 then use the product to divide the 8 (i.e. 8/2*4 = 8/8 = 1). Instead; You divide 8 by 2 first before multiplying by 4 (i.e. 8/2*4 = 4*4 = 16). [16] is the right answer. Another example: 2*4/8 Multiplication came first, and then Division. In this case, you multiply 2 by 4 first before dividing the product by 8 (i.e. 2*4/8 = 8/8 = 1). [1] is the right answer. Same goes for: 8-2+4 Subtraction came first, and then Addition. In this case, you don't add 2 to 4 then subtract the sum from 8 (i.e. 8-2+4 = 8-6 = 2) Instead; You subtract 8 from 2 first then add 4 (i.e. 8-2+4 = 6+4 = 10). [10] is the correct answer. Another example: 2+4-8 Addition came first, and then Subtraction. In this case, you add 2 to 4 then subtract 8 from the sum (i.e. 2+4-8 = 6-8 = -2). [-2] is the correct answer. In the case of mixed operations like: 8/2-4+8*2+4 You follow the hierarchy while keeping the order of those in the same level in mind. You would solve this equation by doing this: 1. Solve the Multiplication and Division operations first. Division came first, and then Multiplication. (8/2-4+8*2+4 = 4-4+16+4. I divided 8 by 2, getting 4. Then, I multiplied 8 by 2, getting 16). 2. Only then, solve the Addition and Subtraction operations. Subtraction came first, then Addition, and then another Addition. (4-4+16+4 = 0+16+4 = 16+4 = 20. You subtract 4 from 4, getting 0. You then add 16 afterwards, getting 16. Finally, add the remaining 4, getting 20). [20] is the correct answer.

@@karakay7536 Ah right, I forgot about the actual hierarchy clause of PEMDAS, cause when it's stated without the parenthesis you go with the first operation afterwards i.e: Exponent, Multiply, Divide, Add, Subtract respective of which is first in the order of operations. Did you come up with this? It's such a cool idea! Dunno if I'll use the "no collabs" rule, but def gonna try it. *Updated: Didn't end up getting any collabs, so no issue. Calli -> Fuwamoco, 7 clips @ 28:12.07. (Managed an AI cover with 6 @ 24:37.55 but it's not actually them so I didn't count it.) I technically had Mococo not Fuwamoco, but I got stuck in a loop looking for a Mococo-only clip.

I love it! it indeed is a creative way to watch vtuber clips. Please do more of this! If I were to give suggestions, if in the future the challenge becomes too easy, you can try to give restrictions to the clips you watch, for example, get from Kanade to Risu without touching clips related to Moona and Iofi, and the difficulty would rise. Of course this is just an idea tho. Great video!

Nice video Koe, I think is interesting how you actually need to know about the relationships between members so you can manipulate the algorithm better, maybe the members haven't collab but they have others in common, and I think it might be more difficult when they are from different branches cause the clippers are also different. This is a cool idea for another series for the channel. Interestingly enough, you actually could have finished the second challenge much faster had you not turned away from a longer clip right towards the beginning as you just ended up going down a similar path in the end anyway. With this challenge, it's definitely more interesting when you cross branches if you're going with Hololive as it's a lot easier to get what you want when you stick to just one branch. You could even make this challenge more difficult by seeing if you can find a solo clip from a specific member in EACH branch of Hololive within an hour.

This could be a fun collab idea similar to the atrioc/ludwig/stanz wiki races, each person starts on the same clip and a vtuber is chosen, they then go through the recommended until they reach the vtuber in question. Could add rules like "no skipping clips" so that you have to keep video time in mind in order to reach the target faster, you know this 10m Ina vid will take you closer to Calli but if you can get to one of the recent rust collabs through this 1m Ao clip it might be faster. The fun part of this is that although it adds a competitive element for the chat to get hyped up over, it is also just a cleverly hidden vtuber clips react segment with barely any extra effort put in.

Love the idea, a possibly more relaxed version of this could be to use numbers of clips viewed rather than real time, removing the consideration of clip lengths and also let's you take your time enjoying the clips with pausing and all that with no drawbacks.

I think the concept is really interesting, but could use some refinement. I can easily see a meta developing if chat is always the "target selector". For example (just off the top of my head): 1. ALWAYS cross language lines (note: for starting point members who are "honorary [second language]" like Anya, treat them as both their official and honorary language and have their path route to the third language - in this example, English) 2. With 1 in mind, avoid targeting actively multilingual members (e.g. Lui is not a good JP pick if you start in EN) 3. If possible, target generations with very few outside connections (e.g. a new debut gen still in "collab jail"; JP 1 and JP 2 also tend to be fairly isolated) 4. If possible, target someone who is currently on a long haitus and thus will have fewer recent clips 5. If possible, target someone who do very few collabs and tend to be very algorithmically isolated (e.g. Aqua, Shiori, Zeta) 6. If 5 is not possible, go the opposite direction and target someone who ALWAYS collabs, so it will be impossible to find a "solo" clip (e.g. Kobo) Justification: 1. Language gaps are almost always going to be a big hurdle to overcome. There are very few funnel points to cross from one language to another. Bonus points if you can force the route through all 3 languages (for example: routing from Watame to Kaela would probably involve a pitstop through EN via Watame>Calli>Biboo>Kaela) 2. This is really more of 1.5 as it's more part of criteria 1 than a separate criteria in its own right, but I'm too lazy to go back and renumber everything. 3. Once we've built the language barrier, the next biggest hurdle we can build is algorithm isolation. Find an island with very few bridges. Bonus points if that island is in and of itself an archipelago with few bridges between its members. I specifically mention JP1 and JP2 here because not only are they isolated relative to other gens, but they're also generally isolated within the gen as "gen identities" weren't really established until GAMERS and FANTASY. It might be easy enough to get to an individual member like Subaru, but it's still hard to get from Subaru to Aqua. 4. I do feel bad about specifically calling out this criteria, as it feels like "putting down" members who are not favored by the algorithm, but realistically speaking: no clips = hard to find. I put this lower than 3 because certain members can "rise above" their absence on occasion, making this generally less reliable. 5. Between 5 and 6, I'd rank 5 slightly higher - better to be hard to find, but easy to isolate than easy to find but hard to isolate. Even the most extroverted/social members have individual Just Chatting and Superchat Reading streams that result in popular solo clips. Understanding what factors contribute to making "the longest path" will give chat an edge in metagaming the target selection. All that as a longwinded way to say I think a randomizer to select the target would be ideal. Maybe randomize 1 name for the starting point, then randomize 2-3 other names for the potential targets and have chat vote on the target from that shortlist.

What's harder to get into than a castle with a moat? A castle with a moat on top of a hill. Etc. The hill doesn't detract from the moat nor the castle. Likewise: What's hard to navigate in the algorithm? Cross-lingual (this is our castle wall). What's harder than just cross-lingual? Cross-lingual (wall) and isolated (moat). What's harder than cross-lingual and isolated? Cross-lingual (wall) and isolated (moat) and few clips (hill). Etc.

20min in: Mistakes were made. I went from Roboco to a pokemon collab one that was 4min long, since Sana and Fauna have both done a good bit of pokemon, so it seemed like an easy route. Only problem is collab clips are mainly leading to pokemon compilation videos that are lik 11-44min long. Plus pokemon only recommends pokemon, so even shorter ones don't really lead anywhere except to random short ones or back to the long compilations. Plus most JP played pokemon so it doesn't narrow the search at all. I hope I either find a way out or a solo fauna clip at this point xD 30min in: Still stuck in pokemon hell. Spent most of this time in Arceus but managed to escape into shining diamond thanks to Sana. In hindsight pokemon was probably a better option for Sana than Fauna since i've already gotten like 4 solo clips for her. 38min: got into pokemon unite JPvsENvsID so potential to escape pokemon hell or maybe just get en clips? One can dream. 41min: took a risk to escape into holocure. Probably just as bad as pokemon, if not worse, but i've only got 19min left so something needs to change! 43min: somehow in palworld now, which is bad since that's going to probably be a lot of biboo and kaela. 45min: now in minecraft, but now everything is about Biboo. 50min: I'm stuck in a 5min clip fauna isn't even in about mario party now. It all comes down to whatever happens after this clip. 56min: well no fauna video. I'm not in a 3min video of council collabing with Gura in minecraft. If there isn't a solo fauna clip after this I lose, there's no time left. 59min: Ended on a Fauna Kronii minecraft collab that took me over an hour. RIP. By the end I was getting a lot of fauna, but pokemon stole half my time and I got nothing out of it, so lesson learned I guess.
