I got the same answer, but I did differently. sqrt( 54^2 - 45^2) sqrt ((9*6)^2 - (9*5)^2) sqrt (9^2 * (6^2 - 5^2)) 9 * sqrt(36-25) 9 * sqrt(11)

I did it in my head. (2*9*45)+(9*9) = 810+81 = 891 sq. rt. = 30 (approx) From the equation: a^2+2ab+b^2 I am not interested in the a^2 part.

Тяжёлый способ. Лучше представить 54 и 45 как 9* на 6 и 5. Висе сразу получается

One can add a follow up question, estimate the solution to an accuracy better than 1% (e.g., gets an answer 30)

54^2 - 45^2 = (54 - 45)(54 + 45) = 9(99) = 9 * 9 * 11, the square root of which is 9√11.

√(54² - 45²) = = √[9²(6² - 5²)] = = 9√[(6 + 5)(6 - 5)] = = *9√11*
