One quick correction that does not affect the analysis or result. 4^5 = 2^10 =1024, NOT 1025. So the rejected result would be x = -768, NOT -769. It is very obvious. 4 is an even number, so any power of 4 will also be even. 1025 is odd and must have a root of 5 in it somewhere, and all roots must be odd.

I saw in about 5 seconds that, since 32^(1/5) = 2, x = 256 is an answer, since sqrt(256) = 16, so that the second root will be 0 and the first wil be 2. (This doesn't tell if there may be other solutions, though)
