I think there's something quite funny in the fact that I ended up coming in contact with the Twenty One Pilots fandom, despite never having heard a single song by them, just because I'm very interested in André Weil lol It's the only place where I can see some discussion/gossip about Weil (and Bourbaki, his sister etc.). You're such unexpected allies hahaha (and very thorough and passionate ones too). I still don't quite understand why and how the band became inspired by the French mathematicians, though 🤔 Anyway, thank you for posting the translation and for reading his poem ❤️❤️❤️

oh wow! thank you so much! ultimately, i think the band became interested because Bourbaki created the “empty set” notation (ø), and they use that to stylize their name. Twenty Øne Piløts. there’s a bunch more like the dangerous bend symbol (Z) and the fact there were 9 members (their album cover had 9 circles). so yeah. cool connections, and glad to have someone else interested!
