I loved this! I'm also not the biggest fan of the clothes/fashion but I do love the history of the palace & being able to see it all up close. I have alot of places that I want to visit when I eventually make it to London one day!

Steve, I like this place. I like the relative intimacy of scale, and some of those vaulted , muraled ceilings are remarkably beautiful. The grounds are very handsome, simpler (albeit still regal in lay out and feel), meditative and serene. I don't find the place (intuitive viewing) to be unhappy or heavy either. I agree with you re the fashion display. It does confuse a pure Kensington experience. Thanks for the look-see, Steve.

I know a strange mixture, almost as if they decided the palace needed something more! 👍😀

Fabulous history in Kensington Palace. Did not realize that this was the official Monarch palace of residence for so many, such as William and Mary, King George III, etc. It is a beautiful design inside, but I do see what you mean in that it is not as grandiose as that of other palaces in London. The red canopy over a bed chamber was grand and beautiful. However, it is certainly charming and beautiful. I love that in a lot of these old palaces, they had silk material on the walls over paper or paint or just stone. And the tapestry pieces are beautiful...and from 1400s! Queen Charlott s Sudan Chair. I am gathering she was carried in this on horses? Sorry, I am only an American tourist here. 😂😂 I just love the meadows and wild flowers in the surrounding grounds. Love the red poppies. So I am glad you mentioned that you did not particularly like the fashion mixed in with the Palace - because I feel the same way. It kind of takes away from the palace a bit for me. Alright in a museum or for a side line in a theater, but not here. So the statue in front, was that Queen Victoria or her daughter? I dont think I got it.

Yes, really a strange mix! But a few great things to see within there. Not as good as some of the other Palaces but still steeped in history. Yes the statue is of Queen Victoria but it was made by her daughter. Thanks as always Luana

Not a royal looking building. I agree with you that the fashion show should not have been there. The historical clothes looked beautiful and it's amazing that they have survived such a long time ⌛⏲️. Queen 👸 Victoria's bed was so small. The ceilings were amazing just the amount of work that had gone into them. The tapestries also. I am glad they have the wildflower meadow. The inside better than the outside.

Really funny place as feel mixed about it, as a royal palace but not up to the standards of so many others.....thanks as always Lesley 👍😀
