My four year old wanted to try Super Metroid after watching me play it. He sucked for months, but I helped him and before long he could finish it time and time again by himself. Enter Metroid Dread. The kid is just about to be five years old. Same thing here, he sucked, he got better. Dread mode got released. He had to finish it in hard mode to unlock it. Being a shit parent I told him "You know it's gonna be super hard and you're probably gonna fail, just saying". He finished it on hard mode. He then started Dread Mode. After a few days he asked me to help him with the twin robot boss. A few weeks later I sat filming him fighting the end boss, time after time. Finally he finished it. Five years old and he finished Dread mode almost by himself. Kids are amazing. *Edit. Just saw you have only 46 subs. That's insanely low considering the quality of this content. Hope I can help with the algo

That’s awesome! He sounds like a very determined kid. I agree that kids are amazing and if they set their mind to something they can probably achieve it. I appreciate the kind words and helping to appease the algorithm 🙏🏼

This is the proof for those who think the game is too hard, that while very challenging, the game is enjoyable. No matter the age, if you like to challenge yourself and want the satisfaction of overcoming you'll develop the skill to do so. Of course not everyone wants that, and it's fair, but that doesn't make the game bad, it just mean it's not your type of game. A 5 year old found the joy in these challenges, and was able to finish the game.

Great idea for a channel! I love Dread! It got me back into the Metroid series! Up to this point i only played Super before. As a new parent I know resources like this will be super helpful to navigating the gaming world for my kids!. Thank you and keep it up! I bet you could even take advantage of the short formula and use a clip of the end result as a teaser to anyone who wants to know more!

Thank you! That’s a good idea about turning the ending into a short. I’ll have to look into that.

To summarize this video in a few words, "Wanna play this game? Get good scrub or else you won't enjoy this game."

Only thing I know is as a kid, I played Metroid Prime 2 and was so afraid of the dark splinters bosses you have to defeat to access the temple at the beginning I couldn't beat that I sold the game right after.

I don't think most kids of this generation will have the patience to play a metroid game, or any metroidvania lol

Left a dislike, but I'm going to explain why: This video is too trivia heavy and that is a real problem among new video makers. It is not relevant to a parent looking to see if their eight year old can play Metroid Dread that it is a sequel to a twnety year old game and was originally going to be made for the DS. Do you think non-gamer parents know what a Metroidvania is? Break it down down for them! Your channel is about actionable information for a parent, not helping them win jeopardy. The time in your video would be better spent going over in depth what's in the game and equating it to other contemporay (EMPHASIS HERE) media properties kids might enjoy. You kept it very broad when it came to the Emmi's by likening it to "a horror movie - but not a full on horror movie." What does that mean to a parent? Are you relying too heavily on their imagination? (yes) The situation with the Emmi's are tense and anxious - kids who are scared of the dark or long quiet sections in media probably wouldn't have a good time there. There's so much more you could elaborate in that moment too. You gotta REALLY get to the specifics if you want this channel to provide helpful information. Be BETTER than what they can find on google!
