It was nice to see... I came to ur comment because you said u were going thru a rough time in 91. Didn't it all turn out to be some lesson you needed to learn? I only asked bc I was telling my 27 year old son to treat all hard times as lessons. Once you receive the lesson, you carry on and do better.
@anpuarcturus Жыл бұрын
@Tayjahbaby8371 greetings Mademoiselle. It did turn out to be a lesson to learn, like many difficult times I have been through. You are telling your son the truth. As long as we live, we are going to have our moments when times are smooth or rough. A peace officer once told me that there are no bad days; some days are just better than others. Actor Fred Williams once said that in order to be successful in life, it is to work hard and not give a shi*. You gonna have rough times anyway. Just work through it 😆 Appreciate you responding to my comment 😃

@TecwellTruck 1991 was a time when life took a shift for many. Even though I was getting through some rough times, I will never forget so many wonderful people that I met who encouraged me to hang there. Fast forward to 2024, I know we still have beautiful people around, but I seldom encounter people who are genuine and sincere. There are many reasons these days are far worse than the 90s. I am just glad I can look back and smile about the days of old. Since 911, the smiles started getting less. Since 2009, it has been hard to keep smiling dealing with people who, most of the time, turn out to be full of it 😆 I appreciate your comment 😃

This was one of the most touching and beautiful tributes I've ever seen. I remember listening to Richards albums when I was a little kid. My dad being an r&b musician I grew up in bars and backstages. After a while you aren't thought of as a little kid. Especially when you can load your pockets with cash playing 3 card Monty and other methods of relieving adults of the burden of carrying a heavy wallet. I had many "uncles" most of them were pigmently gifted where as dad and I were not. They'd be sitting around talking about Richards acts and dad would do his version of Mudd Bone. The first album I got to keep had the skit about 11:30. I'd do it at school and my friends would die laughing. Soon we'd be listening to it every day. To see the looks on kids faces when they heard that was priceless. Scared the hell out of some. To others it was our thing. Most kids grew up on sesame Street and electric company. I grew up on Monty Python,Cheech and Chong and Richard Pryor. I don't know how anyone could watch this show with dry eyes. Rip Richard you truly are loved and missed.

I am seeing this for the first time in my life. I am 64 years old. I have seen STIR CRAZY, SEE NO EVIL, HEAR NO EVIL, I saw Mr. Richard Pryor doing his stand-ups and now I am watching "A Party for Richard." I am a person who sees no color or race, religion, status, gender. When I look at a person I see a human being created by God. It's such a sad thing of how the "black community" and other "minorities" like myself, have had to push and shove and shout to make society understand, "Listen, bro; escúchame, pana, hey, carnal, etc. I AM HERE AND I AM A HUMAN BEING!" This tribute to Richard Pryor (R.I.P.) is a lesson to all of us. "Don't celebrate when I'm gone because I have a bigger celebration in a great, DIVINE MANSION in the sky. Bring me flowers now; tell me how much you love me or hate me now; tell me now how much you need me or don't need me, because the moment I'm gone, I won't be able to hear you." I admire so much how Afro- American people love each other so much. (I hope I wasn't politically incorrect by using this term.) But you see, the trouble is that society has forgotten to see the HUMAN. My praises and admiration to all of the great humans who put together this grand celebration for a great human being- the eternal Richard Pryor. God bless you all.❤❤❤

If you've ever wondered where Eddie got the idea for Randy Watson & Sexual Chocolate, (Coming to America) You just saw it with Bobby Womack … On a serious note, Richard Pryor IS the one of the reasons life can at times be utterly amazing. If there's one person on earth that should have stood no chance at all getting where he got, it's him, given the times and his early life. He'd readily admit himself he sucked at being lots of things and he did, BUT as a comedian he made everyone else look like they were all just driving in the slow lane. His observation and storytelling style, to this day are what others strive to emulate. It's rare to pull off, yet he made it look effortless. Largely as it was his own life he was talking about and I highly doubt others could, or would make it seem remotely funny considering such a life. He's widely and rightly regarded as one of the greatest and most important stand-up comedians of all time. Dave Chappelle said of Pryor, "You know those, like, evolution charts of man? He was the dude walking upright" Enough said.

Thank you so much for uploading this. I pray all other uploads like this just sitting on someones shelf or digital will upload for the World to enjoy & get a 'feel good feeling' now missing from out current universe. I remember King of Comedy Rich Pryor. Brings me in mind of wen times were spiritually better & happier in life being brought up by my grandparents in brooklyn, watching the RP show, Carol Burnette, Gene Wilder & Rich Pryor, The Flip Wilson show, etc. The truly good period of my life. Wen my grands were still alive. When the people in my family hadnt turned into demons against me yet; trying to make my life a living hell. Great trip down memory lane & seeing a person, quite deserving receive his flowers from his peers, mentees, & admirers while Still alive on earth🎉 Amen to that!. Awesome❤ Thanks for the ride down mem lane💕💫👍

The performance of the song 'Wait until the Night' was unbelievably great. Burt Reynolds speech in tribute to Richard Pryor was emotional, real, and ultimately, true, because Pryor holds the title. What's amazing about Keenan Ivory Wayans speech is that Richard gave that feeling to white kids also. He had such a deep humanity to him. Good god is Stevie Wonder talented. We hear it all the time, but holy x is he a great vocalist.
