Honestly, this is a welcome change. Been in a Patriots household and a fan since I was a little kid. Here's how I see it: - Brady is a free agent next season, Patriots don't have a back-up franchise QB - Patriots don't have a consistent kicker or punter - Patriots don't have a guy at TE who can block effectively and spread the field - Patriots don't have a defensive coordinator (you have Jerod Mayo, and Stephen Belichick as assistants and Coach calling the shots) - Patriots wont have an offensive coordinator next year (likely McDaniels takes a HC job somewhere else) - Patriots will have a coaching assistant position open next year (his contract expires too, don't remember his name) - Patriots are going to lose plenty of their OL and DL positions due to trade cap and contract expiration What does this mean? It's rebuild and tanking time. SB Champs will become the Champs of the Tank Bowl for the next half decade. Hell yeah.
