Louis saved me. I was stressed out, working multiple jobs and school and dealing with disease and death in family, I, had anxiety and panic attacks, my therapist told me to find something I could relax in, music, books or whatever. I tried for six months but couldnt listen to any music without getting panic from what I normally liked anyway, the rest was just not catching my attention enough for me to be mindful about it and I didnt have mindspace enough to concentrate on books, til I found Louis and Walls. I was a bit ashamed to begin with, him being a boyband member and I thought I was to cool for that (lol I've changed and I'm obviously not ashamed anymore), so I found a reason to go for long walks every night just so I could listen to the album in piece. I did it every night for months and it got me into the habit of walking and moving my body daily and gave me a quiet mind free from anxiety and panic. True story, no exaggeration.

When I first listened to Walls, I immediately thought that "This is not popular pop material". But it's Louis' music. So, I was hooked. After listening to every song he wrote, literally. I thought it was weird that he knew how to write hit songs that play on the radio all the time, but decided against it. (Especially 'Back To You' and 'Miss You' or 'Just Hold On') It literally had no flavor like general pop music that bring big money. I'm personally very judgy towards how people hype up songs that literally have no other meaning than sexualization or drugs. And Louis' songs were very personal and the lyrics didn't fit into that category. Also, they had distinguishable vibe to them, which makes it hard for me to remember the song names, even if I listened to them hundreds of times. I need to sing the lyrics to know which songs I'm thinking about. After watching his interview, I understood that he doesn't chase the popular genre, but focuses on his own thing, which basically proved my theory. And I'm glad he's doing it. It gives me so much hope for the future of music industry. I don't blame the people for not listening to Louis. But I'd say they have no taste, maybe due to Covid. Louis is not talentless/bad artist. People just aren't prepared for Louis' music.
@xcathyjx84622 жыл бұрын
I grew up in the 90s and the clash of the pop artists vs. the brit pop/pop rock artists was huge. It really was the divide between manufactured sounds, looks, lyrics etc. and real musicians who played their own instruments and wrote their own songs.

Two of Us is about his mom who died about 5 years ago. The line "it'll end just like just like we started, just you and me and no one else" is really sad because he thought that he would be the first one his siblings to die so it would just be him and his mom in heaven like how it was when he was little but soon after his mom died his sister died from overdosing.

The thing about Louis is that although his music does follow a formula and can get predictable and at times repetitive, his lyrics are just so raw. They put you at his point of view or as if you're the one he's singing to. His lyrics are more relatable than most artists because he truly does put his heart out there for everyone to see. When he first started coming out with songs as a solo artist, he was unhappy with them because he only wrote what he thought would sell. Once he realized he had to be true to not only himself but to the fans as well, that's when his songwriting talent shines. His songs are sincere and not manufactured for radio, and that's why we love him

Happy Birthday Louis Tomlinson. 30 years ago today, Johannah Deakin (Rest in Peace, Jay❤️. We love you and we miss you) brought into the world an angel, and that is probably one of the best things to ever happen that has affected my life greatly. I have a problem where I get stressed out way to easily, and I have slight anger issues, but I am always able to turn to music, specifically Louis’ and 1D’ s, and it calms me down the most. Louis makes me smile and laugh when I’m having a bad day, and all I have to do is simply watch a video of him. He is my anchor, one of the only things that can make me calm down when I’m working up, and I can’t thank him enough for that. Louis says that he loves each and every one of his fans, and I believe him. You can really feel just how much he loves us through his music and his words. He treats us like we’re his best friends, and we love him for that. Some may say we’re just crazy and obsessed fans, but they don’t understand. They don’t understand that Lou makes me feel positive about myself when I’m feeling insecure, that he gives me a reason to smile everyday, that he makes me feel loved and cared for when I’m lonely. They don’t understand and that’s fine. Who needs them anyway? Not only has Louis helped me with his music, he and the rest of the 1D boys have indirectly helped me as well. By being in One Direction, he has helped create one of the biggest fandoms in the world, and I am proud to say that I am in this fandom. Directioners all love and want the best for each other, and we have created a home for ourselves in this family, the 1D family if you will (still crying over San Siro😭). This fandom is a safe environment where I feel loved and understood, and it is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I love you guys a lot. Louis is sunshine. That is the only word I can use to describe him without using every positive word in the English language. Like sunshine, he brings joy, laughter, warmth, happiness, light, and love. He has saved so many people just by being himself, and I am so incredibly thankful to him. Louis is an angel. I’m not exaggerating. Louis has done everything for me that an angel is supposed to do. He makes me feel loved when I’m lonely, he makes me feel happy when I’m sad. I love him for that. I really, truly, honestly do. I know he’ll likely never see this, and I know he’s heard this a billion times before, but I’m gonna say it anyway because I’ll most likely never meet him in person. So let’s just all pray that he sees this so at least he knows. Louis, I love you with my whole heart. I am more thankful to you than humanly possible, and I’ll never be able to say it enough, but thank you, I love you, thanks for being my reason to smile. So Happy Birthday to Louis William Tomlinson. I am immensely proud of all that he has done and all that I know he will continue to do. I wish you and your family all the best, because you really truly deserve it. Also, I accidentally deleted this the first time so rewriting it was a bit of a hassle but worth it, and I apologize for how long this is but I needed to say it.

Louis says he writes from personal experiences but purposely makes the lyrics non-personal and relatable to the listener. Makes total sense because we are not his confidants and cannot possibly know what the lyrics mean to him exactly. For Two of us: The song is about his late mum Johannah who sadly passed away in December of 2016 at the age of only 43 after a rather short battle against Leukemia (only half a year). The two of them were really close since she was only 19 when she had him and she also had to raise him on her own, because his biological father left shortly after his birth. That's what he means with the end being like the start with only the two of them. Johannah later remarried her ex husband Mark Tomlinson who is like a dad to Louis, he even took his last name and changed his middle name, because Louis was originally born as Louis Troy Austin. Still him and his mum always stayed the closest, they were best friends and she was always the first he'd go to to tell her about literally anything. He was never ashamed of being the biggest mumma's boy within the band, actually he was very proud of it. Her death hit him and all of his family pretty hard and it took a lot of time for them to somehow recover from it. Louis felt like he needed to write that song as closure with the heavy grief, even though his mum will always be missing. When he released the song in early 2019, his younger sister Felicity, just 18 at the time, passed away shortly after. The Away From Home Festival in August of 2021 was the first time, Louis was able to sing this song without sounding completely broken. So yes, it's really close to his heart and hits you pretty hard while listening to it.

Honestly it's so nice seeing people appreciate Louis' music without everything being about larry. Nice reaction. Walls is such an underrated album.

Someone on Twitter pointed out that in 1d song Story of My Life there's a lyric: "Written in these walls are the stories that I can't explain." and that the name of this album is Walls. Now I can't stop thinking about it.

Most of the album is about Harry Proof Don’t let it break your heart: The lyrics “ And I know you left a part of you in New York under your bed in a box” is about Harry’s stepfather Robin Twist who’s dead. It also relay to Harry’s song “Ever since New York”. We made it: Is about Louis and Harry being able two have a relationship even if a lot of people told them that it would never work or they can’t be together. Also Louis talk about the pressure that was put on Harry and him when they were so young. Too young: Louis sing about how he cracked under the pressure when people said a love like this would never last. Because of the pressure he broke up with Harry and this song is his apologies to Harry. “I’m sorry that I hurt you, darling” are relay to the apologies. The lyrics “face to face at the kitchen table […] now we can finally have a conversation” are related to the song from the dining table by Harry. In that song he say “maybe one day you’ll call me and tell me that you’re sorry too” the song was released 3 years before too young. Walls: “I watched them all come falling down for you” these lyrics are telling that a lot of stereotypes fall out when Harry has starting wearing girly clothes or dress. When Louis sing “Nothing makes you hurt like hurtin’ who you love” is about that Louis has hurt Harry but he hurt himself more for doing this horrible action. Habit: “I took some time ‘cause I’ve ran out of energy of playing someone I heard I’m supposed to be” Louis tell us that he was obliged to be someone he’s not. He was forced to be someone straight when he is not straight. The lyrics in the second verse “And it’s been ages, different stages come so far from princess park” talks about the first apartment that Louis and Harry lived together in princess park when they were on x-factor. Always you: the first lyrics of the song are “I went to Amsterdam without you and all I could do was think about you”. These lyrics are really funny because Louis and his “girlfriend” Eleanor went to Amsterdam together before the song was written. Perfect now: “You never do, but if you ask me to I’ll tell the truth lyin’ next to you” relay to Louis who was forced to deny that Harry and him are a couple and that everybody was sure he was telling the truth but in reality he was lying next to Harry. Defenceless: “I hope that I’m not asking too munch just wanna be love by you” connects Louis wish, that Harry love him. It can not be about Eleanor because he has been in a relationship with his girlfriend since 2011. Only the brave: “it’s a church of burnt romances and I’m too far gone to pray” I interpreted this line as a reference to same-sex relationship, with the “burnt romances” referring to a time when gay people were executed by being burned at the stake in order to cleanse them of so and heresy. It’s also talk about love is only for the brave mostly in gays relationship because of the fear and the hate that the lgbt+ people receive. Sorry for the paragraph

The lyric from Two of Us "We'll end just like we started, just you and me and noone else" really gets me because his biological dad left so it really was only him and his mom for a bit (he took his stepfather's last name); and since he's the oldest it's almost like him saying he'll be the first of his siblings to join her, but then unfortunately one of his younger sisters passed as well

You've gained a fan in me for seeing Louis the way we see him. You were right the two of us was about his Mum he also lost his sister not long after. Harry lost his Stepfather who the boys all loved and one of the songs we believe was to help Harry at this time. The rest we believe we're about Harry. Louis is the boyfriend anybody would want but at the same time we want him to be with Harry more. What can I say we are the best most loyal fanbase we can be because Louis is Our Because❤️❤️❤️❤️
