I used to be a Catholic person, go to church every Sunday and sometimes on Wednesday as well. I was diagnosed with Syringomyelia and that changed all of it. I used to think this song was blasphemy and evil. I now understand that was wrong, this so called God took everything from me. I live in pain every single day and have to take 16 different medications three times a day. I have been made to feel as if I am an evil person because I have to take narcotic pain killers to just be able to walk. I can also no longer sense hot and cold on the tops of my hands and arms and have to rely on my wife to set the water temperature when I take a shower. I am 43 years old and so many things that people take for granted as every day things have been been taken from me. I continue to fight each day but there are some days that I cannot get the strength up to keep going.

I watched my mom die in a week after her doctors told her she had no chance. I know it is ridiculous maybe but after she passed I listened to this song for a month straight to help me to deal and it did help. It is too bad that Maynard hates when fans tell him that he is amazing or that he helped them get through a hard time in life. I would never tell him that but I have had some shitty things in life and it has always been Tool or APC THAT make me cope. Sorry but you can't do anything that helps a person get through the crap sometimes. I understand I grew up in the Bay area and I watched a lot of bands get annoyed hearing the same "YOUR gods".
