You guys are morons. Maynard believes in God, he was just extremely angry at him and hypocrite christians. Listen to 10000 days, ye "true fans" and you'll start to realize. He's not anti christian, he's anti hypocrite. He's actually been coming closer to God in the past decade, but you turds want to take some of his words and jump on the cool God-hating bandwagon without looking into anything further. Maynard's been on a rough spiritual journey, and I pray comfort for him and anyone else going through troubles like that. Trent Reznor has had a very similar journey. I've had a similar journey. I used to be much more angry and "not believe in God" until I realized that it wasn't that I didn't believe, it's that I did and really didn't want to because I was angry and I wanted to reject because I FELT rejected. You have to allow yourself some patience and you'll understand that none of us have been rejected. WE are the ones doing the rejection.

It it also difficult at times to fully grasp if God is such a loving God why would he do these things. Granted I may not go to church as much anymore but I do thank God that he gives me another day to live on this planet and enjoy the things he jas put here. I can say continual pain does very strange things to the brain. I would never tell him that but I have had some shitty things in life and it has always been Tool or APC THAT make me cope. Sorry but you can't do anything that helps a person get through the crap sometimes. I understand I grew up in the Bay area and I watched a lot of bands get annoyed hearing the same "YOUR gods". And other things. His voice takes you away to another place sometimes and it is a gift I have flown with my kids and husband all over to see Tool, APC AND PUSIFER. God causes it to rain on the just and the unjust, the rich and the poor (Job, the Apostle Paul all the disciples etc..). No one get's through this life unscathed. My grandmother was one of the lucky one's in that lived till she was 107. She will spend an eternity in heaven because she believed in the one that died on the cross for our sins, our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. Believe it!!!!

This song and type o negatives song "it's never enough" has the literally the same inspiration, both inspired by the passing of their mothers death.. Both have different but similar meanings, both bashing on religion.

recently descoverd that cancer runs in both sides of my family, and my sister and i both have very high chances of getting breast, skin, and lung cancer, the world is a cruel place, so you might as well make the best of this shit-hole before we compltly kill it. And if you get angry at it, then fucking scream, write a song do something. But theres really no reason to get mad over a song written by a man mad at the world that parilized his mother and killed her after she prayed for forgiveness from something that dosint exist.

When the earth was still flat, And the clouds made of fire, And mountains stretched up to the sky, Sometimes higher, Folks roamed the earth Like big rolling kegs. They had two sets of arms. They had two sets of legs. They had two faces peering Out of one giant head So they could watch all around them As they talked; while they read. And they never knew nothing of love. It was before the origin of love. The origin of love And there were three sexes then, One that looked like two men Glued up back to back, Called the children of the sun. And similar in shape and girth Were the children of the earth. They looked like two girls Rolled up in one. And the children of the moon Were like a fork shoved on a spoon. They were part sun, part earth Part daughter, part son. The origin of love Now the gods grew quite scared Of our strength and defiance And Thor said, "I'm gonna kill them all With my hammer, Like I killed the giants." And Zeus said, "No, You better let me Use my lightening, like scissors, Like I cut the legs off the whales And dinosaurs into lizards." Then he grabbed up some bolts And he let out a laugh, Said, "I'll split them right down the middle. Gonna cut them right up in half." And then storm clouds gathered above Into great balls of fire And then fire shot down From the sky in bolts Like shining blades Of a knife. And it ripped Right through the flesh Of the children of the sun And the moon And the earth. And some Indian god Sewed the wound up into a hole, Pulled it round to our belly To remind us of the price we pay. And Osiris and the gods of the Nile Gathered up a big storm To blow a hurricane, To scatter us away, In a flood of wind and rain, And a sea of tidal waves, To wash us all away, And if we don't behave They'll cut us down again And we'll be hopping round on one foot And looking through one eye. Last time I saw you We had just split in two. You were looking at me. I was looking at you. You had a way so familiar, But I could not recognize, Cause you had blood on your face; I had blood in my eyes. But I could swear by your expression That the pain down in your soul Was the same as the one down in mine. That's the pain, Cuts a straight line Down through the heart; We called it love. So we wrapped our arms around each other, Trying to shove ourselves back together. We were making love, Making love. It was a cold dark evening, Such a long time ago, When by the mighty hand of Jove, It was the sad story How we became Lonely two-legged creatures, It's the story of The origin of love. That's the origin of love.

God does things that no man will understand, He loves all of us, but there are things He does which will glorify Him and lead the lost (UN-saved) to Him, that they will not go to Hell after their death.

One of the best songs with an argument of logic against the lies of Christianity. A sad day when you lose your faith but the beginning of living in truth.

If there is a entity like the perceived Christian god benevolent and omnipotent.. then I believe that entity would judge our souls based off our Merit and character.. I couldn’t see a true Hollowed God caring so much about our submission and worship to him, that almost feels like a corrupted trait to me

The Lord forgives him for making this song...you can hear the pain in his voice and some of us grieve worse than others. I am Christian and I still love this song because he was speaking from the heart about how he felt at this time in his life and the lord knows his heart . We need to learn to pray for people and not condemn them because the lord has forgiven worse than this and will continue to until the end of time

He’s an occultist and into Aleister Crowley’s teachings. I got saved almost 2 years ago but this song popped up an old liked playlist whilst showering and with new eyes to see I can really see through it. He’s into magick, channeling (aka: demonic forces taking over) but it’s sad his bitterness has taken over to be on Satan’s side. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnqmnpWfpbqrm80
@HeauxTalesTarot Жыл бұрын
@@ayesha_jane all you can do is PRAY for him…..everything else is gods job….idc what he is what he worships I cannot be in control of him. I can only be in control of me. There is so much occultism and paganism indoctrinated in ALL OF OUR DAILY LIVES some people practice it VOLUNTARILY and some INVOLUNTARY so for that reason ima pray for him and pray he finds his way back to god.
@ayesha_jane Жыл бұрын
@@HeauxTalesTarot It’s always good to pray for others, but he full well knows the truth in being a literal Satanist (you can hear how badly he’s cursing God in this song) so the chances are pretty slim/along with how badly he’s influenced millions of youth, I don’t think God’s going to be happy with him but as long as he’s alive there’s always a chance.
@HeauxTalesTarot Жыл бұрын
@@ayesha_jane right but let’s not forget the people who are alive who swindle money from the poor, let not forget about the UNFIT parents who left their kids in the gutter for drugs and let’s not forget the people who think THEIR SINS are less than the other SO now they think their righteous too….News flash…..god ain’t happy with none of us cause clearly we all seem to suffer which is why it’s best to NOT JUDGE and JUST PRAY….there are MANY PEOPLE who cursed god in the Bible whether they did it because they were going thru pain or whether they did it smite god…..THEY DID IT and god anointed then instead of condemning him….that’s what we choose to do….let GOD do his work
@ayesha_jane Жыл бұрын
@@HeauxTalesTarot You can still pray for him as Jesus would want you to do so, but you’re going a little overboard in your defence of him because God also cuts the silver chords of outright Satanists like Anton LaVey. Maynard KNOWS what he’s doing and who he’s serving 😈 so if you’re a Christian 1) Why are you listening to him and defending him so hard instead of exposing deeds of darkness? He takes from teachings of man (Crowley) who says the best form of sacrifice are young boys... it’s not okay.

SuperBubblyme hit the nail on the head. This song is about his mother Judith, whom he loved very much. He is angry that she never wavered in her beliefs, no matter what her condition or ailment. She was paralyzed for a lot of time.. the Album 10,000 days by Tool was named for the approximate time she was ill. (or suffering as i understand) If you think he hates God... Listen to Right in Two by Tool. It doesn't matter what we think, he has his own opinions and the songs go right to the soul.

Honestly i find it that there two types of religious, the ones who are ignorant and the ones that understand that there are some things that cant be explained just by saying ,"its god" and "god did it", and there are a WHOLE LOT MORE ignorant than the smart...
