Have you ever read/seen The Road? It's a book by Cormac McCarthy, later made into a movie with Christian Bale. It's about a father caring for his young son in a post-apocalyptic landscape. I read it and watched it once, before I had a child, and it was sad, but interesting. I watched it again after having a kid. Never again. It just rips out your guts and stomps on them if you're a parent.

Just... Wow. I've been waiting for new Tool/APC for yeeaaars... But as I grow older I find my tastes have changed. First time I listened to this album I was very "meh". After a few listens though... Holy moly. The lyrics, how the whole album is really an experience to be taken in to simmer in your brain... It takes you on a trip. The technicality, timing, and lyrics... It ties so well together, and leaves you evaluating what you find important in life. This is the music I've been craving. Nowadays the lack of meaning or point to songs, the immediate gratification they cater to... This is opposite to that. It makes you feel something deeper. I imagine most will be divided on this new album, but honestly I feel it's the perfect evolution of APC's sound. Matured, honed, and crafted to distill a real emotional investment while listening. Love you guys, APC!

Aye, I saw the similarity too...could be the same director maybe? Need to look into that. But this one tells a different story, the people aren't oblivious, they know too well they're damned and they're living with the knowledge of their doom. Money doesn't matter, the day to day nonsense doesn't matter when death is going to wipe out you and everyone around you. And that's the point of the song. We waste our life and waste our energy and money on the frivolous. Death steals away and equalizes everything. In the black hole sun video the story was different. Filming style seems similar though which is why the director may be the same.
@thesilentcrow6 жыл бұрын
Hornets gospel, no ideas are fully original anymore. There are over 7 billion humans on this planet right now, we all have pretty much the same basic brain structure and none of us are the 46 and 2, so original ideas cannot be fully original. Humans have exists for a few million years, everything has been done in some way or another.
