I have the latest version of this watch and it has a screw down crown for the inner bezel. The clasp loosens up and smooths out over time and is still secure. I have the bottle green and it is my favorite in my collection. The movement is more quiet than 8 series miyota. The fit and finish quality is below Tudor but above Seiko. light yet balanced on the wrist.

It is a great watch. Somehow I still have it even though I said I will flip it. I feel like the 38.5 with the inner bezel being same color as the dial looks bit too big on my 6.5 inch wrist.

On the presentation of the watch, you should have opened the box and shown the little travel sleeve it comes in. I actually think for this price point, the sleeve with the compact box it ships in is very efficient and an elegant solution. The "pleather" cases from the two other brands you highlighted seem to be the more budget packaging IMHO.
@slimwrist11438 ай бұрын
Very valid point. I thought about it but I was already done and uploaded the video. I personally prefer the watch box over the travel case because it creates an experience when you first open up the box but I can see how others see the travel case as more functional item.

One of my favorite bracelets. My Tudor is great, too, but it gets scratched so easily. The Traska has a quick-adjustable clasp. It's a perfect fit. Also, the clasp issue for me got better over a six-month period. New, it is, like you said, a bit hard to close, but these watches last forever, and the clasp gets worn in and gets better. I don't see it as a con because it's just the closing of my clasp and the clasp works. I've never had an issue of the clasp coming undone or anything. If anyone is on the fence, I know 2 people besides myself that just reserved a second Ventrer already owning one. The watch is a great fit and great profile. The only watch I never tried on first buying new. Once you own one, you realize that you can go to any other Traska model and not have to worry about the fit. It's gonna fit or be adjustable to fit easily. I wear mine more than any other watch.

Definitely the first watch review I’ve ever seen on YT where Margot Robbie was used as a comparison in a watch review. Also GMT prices are coming down and for brand’s using the Miyota 9075, they’re hovering around the $575 price point.

I'm glad Traska is fixing the rotating bezel issue with the 3rd gen Venturer by making the crown a screw down. As for the clasp, mine closes easily when I close it by pressing against the inside of my wrist. Maybe you just got bad clasp.
@dharmensoneji33608 ай бұрын
I bought a gen 2 in November as well. I had the rotating bezel issue was driving me mad so I sent it back and traska fixed it. The clap on mine isn’t so stiff feels quite easy to close. Lume isnt so good on this watch. Does look pretty on the wrist though. I got the blue dial version.

Yes it is a very good looking watch. I recently got bitten by the "vintage" bug and I think that is the main reason I am not reaching for this watch. Good to hear you don't have the clasp issue.

@@DBR6464was really easy. I emailed them explaining how bad the bezel was (could rotate by 90degrees within a few hours which renders the gmt pointless). They sent me a return label. The watch took a week to get to the repair centre, a week to “repair”. I was in the USA at new year so they posted it back to my hotel. Worn the watch ever since and it has not moved off even the tiniest amount. Very happy now. Loving the look and feel of the watch. Now if they could only fix the lume…..

If the inner bezel was fixed I think this watch would be perfect. I don't need or like the second crown, rotating inner bezel, or a third time zone option.

I emailed the owner asking if they can have a locking mechanism on the second crown. I think that should solve it.

Doesn’t Traska provide a leather carry pouch? Isn’t that way more practical and important than a box that will sit on your shelf or in your closet 99.9% of the time?
@slimwrist11437 ай бұрын
Yep. I replied to another person who called out the same thing. Personal preference but I never use the carrying pouch yet I look at the box all the time like a damn idiot. They all sit on top of my working desk and I visually like seeing them all laid out. Just a preference.

Maybe I should get a San Martin after all. I know they're well made, though I'm burnt out on NH3x movements and Rolex "copages". I like to see the PT5000 in Chinese-made watches because they're good timekeepers, and you can always swap in an SW200-1 if you're loving the watch and you find the movement is letting it down.
@slimwrist114326 күн бұрын
If you look at my San Martin review (the only one I own) that model has pt5000 in it. Makes the watch slimmer and I like it because the copage is more of the Tudor Submariner than the Rolex. I say take a leap if you are interested, I dropped that watch maybe 4 times already and still keeps excellent time (knock on wood, because I think others have quality issues with PT5000)
@vonkruel26 күн бұрын
@@slimwrist1143 Cool, I'll be giving them another look in the 11/11 sale. My experience with my 1st PT5000 is that it's a great timekeeper, but the keyless is a bit clunky on it. That PT5000 is cased in the best watch I've bought on AliEx so far which _is_ a copage: the IX DAO "Engineer". It's a fantastic watch, and I think I will be putting an SW200-1 in it. It's not like IWC lost a sale when I bought that watch, and most people won't even recognize it.
@vonkruel24 күн бұрын
@@slimwrist1143 Actually a current favorite of mine is the 9-DAO "Engineer" (from AliE), even though it's a copage. It's just so well done, and who will recognize it anyway. The PT5000 runs great although the keyless is a bit clunky. They also offer it with MOP dials and I'm actually tempted.
@slimwrist114324 күн бұрын
@@vonkruel You should get it. I am trying to stay away from SM as well, I have Octopus 36mm and Cronos (with new logo) 36mm Explorer homages coming in. Both PT5000, but I want to do a review for each and do a comparison and keep one. Steinhard Adventure 39 was fantastic build but I flipped already because 39mm and the chunky case was too much for me and my 6.5 inch wrist.
@vonkruel24 күн бұрын
@@slimwrist1143 Earlier this year I did buy the 9-DAO Engineer with the homagey blue dial and PT5000, and I've been wearing it quite a bit. It's so good I'd even consider having 2 of the same watch (probably black MOP for the 2nd). I got a sweet deal on a new Deep Blue watch w/ an SW200-1 a couple years ago, and I'm tempted to swap movements between that watch & my Engineer. Then I could sell that Deep Blue, because it's main purpose has been housing that SW200-1 😆 . It's a perfectly well made dive watch, but it's got nothing going for it really. Steinhart is another one I'm interested in, particularly their titanium watches. 39mm is roughly my lower limit (wrist size is 20cm). Besides that, I'm also waiting for my chance to get a WISE watch in 904L _with_ a bracelet. I've got to try 904L. Besides Rolex, it's only WISE & Ball who use it to my knowledge.

@@slimwrist1143 Thanks very much. Yes, the Commuter. It's all sold out. Maybe I can find one used. If not, the Lorier Astra, especially the light blue version is as light as the Traska, and only $499. These are probably the best 2 watches now for the money. Lighter than equivalent Seikos and perhaps even better in design. There aren't many lightweight Steel watches but these two are some of the few. I also like the even lighter weight Undone and Timex Titanium Field watches for $350 but they're not as nice as these. But the Undone would be my second watch after the Lorier.

Strongly disagree, aside from the hard coating on the steel which makes it highly scratch resistant and the fact that they guarantee the watch to be regulated at no more than +-10 seconds, there is also the “feel” of the fit and finish, it is hard to describe the perception of quality but you can with this brand. The reality is you won’t really know until you have one in your hands, at least that was the process for me to change my mind about the price.
