I don’t get the long lugs on a small watch. Seems to defeat the object of it being smaller. And it has male end links. Seems that if the case was a different design it could have a bigger dial diameter and still fit a small wrist better.

I've tired - I seriously have - but it just doesn't push my buttons and I really cannot say why, as I love aviator-inspired watches and I love the Big Eye. Good luck to you if you enjoy it though.

@@hotelpv it depends on what you want. The level of finishing, from case to dial, is greater on the Longines. The dial is much cleaner. Applied indices, bracelet. I have not tried one on. I like the Hamilton for what I use it for, and I like the busy dial (feels more like a “tool watch” to me) and the power reserve is great. Accuracy is good. As always, a great review by Teddy. I bought this watch a few days ago to celebrate my retirement at the end of this year. I was worried that the 37mm case might be too small for my 6.75-inch wrist, but as noted by Teddy this watch wears more like a 38mm case because of the longer lug-to-lug and male end links. It actually wears great on my wrist, and as an owner of watches 39mm and greater, I am really enjoying the smaller case size and lighter weight. One point I disagree with Teddy on is the lume, which in my opinion is great. The hands and arabic numbers are well lumed and they shine bright through the night. I do agree with Teddy that Longines should have made this watch with an exhibition case back, and a screw down crown would have been nice. Overall, however, I really love this watch.

This is a great release. I kind of wish they would update the other sizes to have a 6 o'clock date window. The 40mm is a great size for me (I love the look of the titanium), but I'm sure I could wear this 37mm model, at least on the bracelet with those male endlinks. Something like the BB36 I find too small, but this might wear well. Watches such as the "Baby" Alpinist at 38mm wear great on me, but I do tend to prefer 39-40mm for non-divers. One little miss I've seen with this release is the product photos on Longines' site only show a female wearing the watch, despite the fact that they list the 37mm under both men and women's filters. Clearly it is a unisex targeted watch, but the photos do not convey that. I've in fact seen somebody on social media concerned that the 37mm is really a "woman's watch." They were concerned about buying it because of that. I know men should not be that sensitive about it, but some clearly are.

Hey so you showcase watches on the wrist and have a little pop-up saying the wrist size... but you only seem to showcase watches on the wrist size most appropriate to the watch. It would be nice to see you show a watch such as this on a larger wrist instead of just the 6.5inch. And then visa versa when you do a video on a larger watch, instead of just showing it on a 7.25inch you could also show it on a 6.5inch. Comparison is very informative. It would give the viewer a much better indication for some watches and you obviously have different wrist sizes available for videos.

Excellent review thx! Which case color would you rate as more “classy”? Black or champagne? Can’t decide 😂

The lack of a screw down crown as opposed to in the 40 mm version for me is a dealbreaker. With a screw down crown, this would be a perfect alternative in the traditional Rolex explorer category.

Reminds me of the TAG Autavia, one of the better looking near-luxuries out there. This would look great with a dive bezel!

I own a Longines Avigation Bigeye. I absolutely love it. Only because it’s design is absolutely spot on. Perfect. I find other Longines to be a far cry from the Bigeye. Almost awkward looking. Can’t explain it. I think Longines could do with employing me to sort out their design language.

Great video teddy. CJ here, I love the longines I got from your site and has made me a super fan of the brand. It's become my regular weekend watch, Hamilton during the week. This is a beauty. Love the slender silhouette and clean look.

I sure hope they reduce the lug length and move the date to 6 on the 40mm also. If they did I’d get one for sure.

If only it had a see through case back. It matters to me since I don't yet own a watch with it and I want it from my next one otherwise this would be my choice. This movement even has a pleasing machine finishing if I am not mistaken.

They should add an off-white / cream dial for that vintage feel and I would seriously consider one.

Everything is perfect about this watch except the long lug-to-lug distance. They got it finally right with the new 38mm Conquest.

Would this 37mm version be better for a 6.9in wrist or the 40mm?
@Loopie1572 жыл бұрын
I love this watch along side the Zulu spirit but Longines please cut to the chase and provide this size with all the colour options provided in the 40+ mm options. titanium, guilt numerals and hands. You will sell Millions! Thanks for the review Teddy
