I'm glad he mentioned the "The Neuroanatomy of Freestyle Rap," because there was always a spoken word element to his speech patterns during his "flow" state. If you write and perform, you can easily understand the zone he's in, and it's absolutely brilliant.

The moments I get into a "flow state" have been at the right conditions and practices. When I workout or before a race, I am able to get into this state of conscience that allows me to be safe, have fun, and relax at the possible danger, environment or challenges that have to met. Thank you for helping share this type of process and look forward to other videos and advice.

Expounding rationalized pseudo-philosophies using purposefully deceitful language for the sake of propagating a consumerist corporate agenda for his sponsors? He is a nice reference to good and novel ideas by other people, but his own philosophy is delusional at best, deceitful at worst. I don't consider being a corporate sell out a dream job.

People saying this guy isn't a Philosopher, enligthen me what it takes to be a "Philosopher"?Philosophy is simply to ponder on what it is to be and what things are and aren't.There's a common thought that someone should carry a certain academic certificate related to Philosophy,or go to schools of Philosophy inorder to identify them as Philosophers. When in reality all it takes is to entertain our thoughts and wonders to be one.

he explains this type of thing perfectly the few times i have experienced this i was not vocal about it but found myself in what he referred to as a 'flow' state. The time this was the strongest was standing on top of the first mountain i summitted and it lasted for a good 12 hours afterward this sort of philosophical omnipresent perfect unrestricted state of happiness and thought, it was amazing and I now long for it.

I do the same thing! Just not with the same production value you do it in (I use a mic, audio ends up unusable in the end anyway lolz). Its great to know that I'm not the only one who does it and seeing someone do it more profoundly will encourage me to do it more and to do it better! Jason Silva, your officially my role model, seeing this video puts you more so in my foresight in how I wish to work. We may never met, but our journey will unite.

it is very weird how he explained perfectly how i think and why i sometomes "rant" when something i love comes up in conversation or thought. i have never had an explanation as to why i think the way i do and he hit the nail on the head. i do have a small problem that my "audience" is not like his and generally does not care and often i seem strange to others and i have yet to quite figure out how to trigger these thought processes myself, it tends to just happen spontaneously.

This stream of consciousness philosophizing yields the mere feeling of profundity, without the careful analysis and nuance of academic analytic philosophy. Setting aside one’s speech “filter” may reveal more about one’s subconscious, but it will not reveal more substantive propositions about the external world. His goals are likely distinct from those of academic philosophy; I think he owes his audience a clear explanation of his goals. His method could prove to be a valuable tool for brainstorming. However, any idea that would contribute the sciences or analytic philosophy would need to be scrutinized through analysis.

When I first saw Jason, for some reason, I felt like he was fake. Like he secretly scripted these moments or something. But over time, his genuity(?) shown through and eventually I realized that him and I are kindred souls of the most intimate kind. I feel like Jason is where I would be if I continue on this path of letting go of fear and anxiety to express my deepest desires and thoughts. Jason IS the Timothy Leary of today. I would even go so far as to say that he's becoming what Terence McKenna was in the late 90's, except he has so much life left. Truly one of the most remarkable minds of the 21st century.
I was once the same way, but somewhere along the way, I seem to have lost it. Sometimes I feel that part of me trying to reemerge, but then "bam", it's gone. Not to say I won't keep trying, mind you.

We are all Philosophers to some degree or other, some follows the Plato, or the Aristotle lines of Philosophy, and then some follow the Thomas Aquina's, which is based off of Aristotle. Philosophy in some cases is like a self-dialogue, and yes, it can spring from ideas, even from Divine Sources....inspirations, if you will.
