KEXP please please reupload this with a higher audio bitrate. I would imagine it would be better than what youtube allowed 8 years ago. Still sounds amazing though.

Dear A Place to Bury Strangers, What you accomplished here is a force to behold. The sounds I heard were akin to a 40 ton half stack entering the Earth's atmosphere with the treble on high, fed through a fuzz pedal, dragged through the fallout of an atom bomb, and all fed directly to my cerebral cortex via a rusty wire. I loved it and I love you. Thanks.

I swear, that guy is a fucking genius. His band is incredible, and he has his own line of boutique pedals that are probably the best low fi stuff out there. I need to see them live

never will i forget that sonic experience.

this is still one of the best live versions of the song i have ever heard next to the first time i heard it at Wall of Soundfest in Virginia.

There's something about this thing he does at 4:48 with that high pitched scream before they blast-off into outer space. I can hear it over and over again and it has the same effect on me every time. Saw APTBS twice in 2015 - both times in empty venues. They reveled in the space and turned it into something I'd never seen. Never heard so much noise from a 3-piece band. Mesmerizing.
@delivrance39616 жыл бұрын
agree!
@moseygded40043 жыл бұрын
And even after that it sounds like wailing in a way that the studio version doesn't.

I had never heard of them before, they were a "special guest" opening for Fuck Buttons at Chop Suey in Seattle, '08 maybe '09? My buddy and I got there early have a few beers, wonder who's opening? Prob 8-12 people there. APTB came on stage with a smoke machine and blew the walls out. The only thing comparable in sheer sonic assault was My Bloody Valentine. Huge fan ever since, love everything he does. I think my favorite band lineup is the last one for Pinned. Although this new album is nothing to scoff at.

The 1st time ever I listened to them was on the old dead WOXY playing "to fix the gash...", when they even didnt have an album yet, I knew there was something on that sound. The more I listen to them, the more I know I was right. GREAT BAND.
@LeroyPeterson Жыл бұрын
Can't replicated the energy of the original line-up. The debut album is due for a remaster. But also the original is a time capsule of a truly independent band.

I saw them live in Denver and they blew me away with loudness. Of course some guy had to come up and say, "if you think this is loud, you should have been at the My Bloody Valentine show. Now that was loud!"

I'm proud to say that when I seen MBV I was the dickhead in the crowd who kept on shouting LOUDER!!! Any show where they have to legally hand out ear protection is on point

that's why that call it a wank bar! I now know the other secret to this amazing guitar sound. The jaguar vibrato system is the shiz! I gotta get one, that constantly wavering pitch wave of distortion is just blissful

absolutely magnificent this fucking radio stations never paly things like that. how can especially young people still heaR TO MAINSTREAM BULLSHIT. I AM 45 and this group makes me feel alive as i catch my self moving lke palying the druns. like the first time i heard the JESUS AND MARY CHAIN do not stay in the same things.music is evolving. it mis always fascinating to discover new things. this is a killer performance. this is to be underground music fan. it is not U2 OR COLDPLAY the indie music. THIS IS THE INDIE MUSIC PEOPLE
@kitesproject-c2b9 жыл бұрын
I'm 14, feels awful when absolutely no one respects experimental music like this, do you know how hard it is to get a band? lel
@panagiotischaralampopoulos71529 жыл бұрын
DEAR FRIEND. DO NOT EXPECT OTHER PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IT IS ALTERNATIVE. THIS MUSIC HAS ITS OWN LONELY PATH BUT IT HAS A PASSION LIKE NOTHING ELSE.IT IS FOR SOME SMALL CIRCLE OF DEVOTED FRIENS. IT IS A WAY OF LIVING BY SEARCHING FOR NEW MUSIC. THIS WILL MAKE YOU DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHERS. DO NOT EXPECT GIRLS OR MANY OF YOUR FRIENDS TO SUPPORT THIS MUSIC. THIS IS NOT THE POINT. THEY WILL ALWAYS BE YOUR FRIENS BUT ALTERNATIVE MUSIC WILL BE ONLY FOR YOUR SATISFACTION. KEEP SEARRCHING FOR NEW BANDS. FOLLOW THE ROAD AND YOU WONT BE DISSAPOINTED A 45 YEAR OLD ALTERNAIVE UNKLE

I've a zvex mastortion and a fuzz factory. The fuzz factory makes some pretty crazy noises and its fun to oscillate, and the mastortion, while very nice on a clean amp, gets kinda of muddy on a dirty amp, the amount of low end on it is pretty insane.
@kameronwraithd.k.5363 Жыл бұрын
I had no idea Epiphone head and amp cabinets actually existed :O
@ibelieveicansoar14 жыл бұрын
@rayolacer I've seen APTBS live twice; I'm a total drum snob and I remember my jaw being pretty much open while watching him bash away. He's one of the hardest-hitting drummers I've ever seen, and reminded me of Helmet's drummer when I saw them in '95. The drums are just not recorded very well in this clip, so they sound kind of flat and dry.

Sensational performance, REGARDLESS of peoples lame opinion of lack of organization. Music is art and often altered on the spot. Some people need to get a clue and my sympathies go out to them.

APTBS in RockAlParque 2010!! Just freaking epic stuff!! Kinda sad how people d rather go Calamaro's instead of staying to this madness; I did and im sooo stupidly satisfied about it... Bassist should have threw bass corpse further so i could reach the fucker, guck! Anyways, APTBS, u guys did it man, make it back to Colombia, quite sure ppl know what s really worth now
