"It's wayyy too hot..!!" You exclaimed as you tried to fan yourself with a paper fan. The scorching sun blazed down on your body, and you felt icky because of the sweat that stuck your skin to your clothes. "Quit complaining..." Blade mumbled, his voice gruff and low as usual. "I'm hot too, and the complaining isn't helping..." He tried to sound as nice as possible, but with the heat draining his energy, he just sounded very irritated. You rolled your eyes at him but didnt argue. You didn't want to cause the air to get more intense than it already was. You sighed out, admitting defeat. Silver Wolf came outside in swim wear holding a fan, and Firefly came out after her in her own swim wear. "Why haven't you guys dipped into the pool yet...?" Silver Wolf asked. She shook he head at you and Blade. "I'm not in the mood..." Blade spoke. "Me neither..." You added. "It'll help with the heat though..." "Um...actually...the water is warm..." Firefly chimed in, dipping her foot in the blue chlorine filled water. Silver Wolf scoffed. "Seriously?! Curse this heat!" You couldn't help but chuckle at Silver Wolf as she stomped her foot like one of those animated movies. "It'll be fine... I think we should just go back inside with the cool AC." Firefly suggested. "Might as well..." Silver Wolf mumbled. The two girls walked back inside. The rest of the day blurred by and it was now night. It wasn't that hot as it was during the day, but the air was warm. You stood outside on the balcony, watching flying cars pass by. You couldn't sleep. You hear the sliding door open and close shut, the familiar grunt of Blade following suit as he acknowledged you. Blade walks up to you and lights a cigarette. You give him a concerned look, and your eyes glance down at the lit blunt. Blade took notice of your glance and grunted. "I told you before... it's a bad habit." He looked off into the distance and you shook your head at him. He was free to make his own choices, and you were a bit concerned for his well being. Yet, you couldnt help but feel a sense of intrigue by his self-depricating ways of trying to reach his end faster. "What does it matter?" He asks you, noticing that you were still staring. "I do care about your well being, Blade." You respond, looking out as the cars and people on the ground pass by the busy street below. "I know..." He responds. You couldn't tell how he was feeling. His response was emotionless. But you swear you could hear a hint of endearment in his voice. There was a silence between you, with the occasional sound of Blade inhaling and puffing the smoke of the cigarette. "Couldn't sleep?" Blade decided to break the silence between you two. "Nope..." You let out a sigh. "Not at all." Blade's phone goes off and he checks it, the tapping of his keyboard going off as he texted someone. "Who is it?" You ask curiously. "Kafka. She's taking the girls to the store." He points down below at the convenience store that was across the street. "Ahh..I see." You say as you look down to where Blade was pointing. The both of you stand there for a few more minutes. You look down at the street, noticing the blurs of colors from the familiar Stellaron Hunters. You smile lightly. You were very fond of each of the members. Ever since becoming a Stellaron Hunter, you felt like you belonged. You finally had a family. "What's on your mind, Y/N?" Blade asks you as he takes another puff from his cigar. "Just.. thinking how grateful I am to be a part of this family." You respond. You look at Blade, who gives you a bit of a shocked expression that is soon replaced with his stoic look. "Ah..I see.." He turns his body to face you, placing his elbow on the railing. He leans against it. That's when you noticed that the man was shirtless, his chest bandaged up. You couldn't help but stare at his chest, toned abs and muscular arms. You admire and take in every burn mark and scar that was on his body. Blade raised an eyebrow at you. "Is there something wrong?" "No..! Nothing's wrong." You respond, clearing your throat. You went back to staring out at the street. "...were you staring at me?" Blade asks. "..." You let out a defeated sigh. It was hard to hide anything from him. He was a very observant man. "Yeah..sorry." "No need to apologize... I just don't understand why you..." He trails off, trying to find the right words. "Why I stared?" "No. Why you see me as more than just a blade. You're few of many people who see past it all. It's rather intriguing." "You think so?" "Mm.." You chuckle lightly. "Well, I know the real you. And I'm grateful for that, because not many people can. Or try to." "They see me as intimidating and dangerous." "Does it..bother you?" There's a silence between you two and you notice Blade was lost in thought, trying to find the right words to say. "...To each their own. I could care less for what others think of me. I've come too far into my plan to concern myself on how people perceive me." You couldn't help but feel satisfied by his response. You knew Blade was humble, wise, and kind under his hardened exterior. He cared for the Stellaron Hunters, yes, but his mind has always been set on Finality. So hearing him respond with that was both typical but expected. "...have you ever fell in love Blade?" You suddenly ask him. He must have been caught off guard by your question, because you could hear him choke on air. This was a rare reaction. "...yes...and no. My former self was. I don't have time for trivial matters such as love." "Oh... I see." You knew the answer he was going to give you, but you still sounded and felt disappointed hearing him say it out loud. "... don't tell me you're in love." You let out a nervous chuckle. "...I see...I apologize, Y/N. I don't want to upset you, but-" "No, it's okay! I...knew you'd say that..." "...Maybe I will give love another shot...but it isn't guaranteed." "...wanna bet on it?" You look at him. Blade chuckles, and his lips quirk up into a genuine, small smile. A rare sight to see. "Perhaps...I can humor your little bet. How does a nice date sound if you win?" "Deal!" The two of you shake on it and stare off into the distance once more. Not knowing that Blade was indeed going to fall for you in time.

recommended start at 0:32 You thought you will finally have some rest after many sleepless nights but it wasn't meant for you tonight. The sound of ambulance coming from the outside woke you up for the fourth time. Annoyed, you took a deep breath and sat on your bed, the sweat running down your back. The room was all covered in completely darkness which was making you feel uneasy. A light smell of humid, late summer air was filling the space you were in. As you stood up, you felt dizzy, just like you were about to faint. You need to bring yourself a glass of water. It was not unusal that the balcony door was opened all the way during those stuffy days and usually it didn't bother you but today was different. Since it's weekend, all of those clubs down the street were playing loud music and it was making troubles for you to sleep. The neons were lighting so much, it formed a blue aura surrounding everything you could see. With the chill music now playing on, you felt like in some kind of dream you wanted to be in right now. Holding a mug with water you came closer to watch the streets but then you saw a figure outside and you knew who that was. You slowly went to ask him why isn't he sleeping right now but the view you saw there stunned you for a moment. His head was slightly tilted back, eyes closed just like he was in the same dream you were in, standing with bare chest exposing his bandages. His right hand was holding a cigarette stub. His hair, lazily danced with the wind as he took a drag. He helds it in his lungs for a moment and then he lets it out slowly and sighs at the end. You watch as the smoke makes illusion of merging with colorful mist the neons are making. "Want to join?" his rough, tired voice comes to your ears stopping you from further thoughts. Without a word you step into the balcony. Since you're barefoot you feel warm tiles that haven't cooled yet. When you stepped in, you felt a night wind brushing your body softly. It is all you needed now, a small wind to cool you from those warm days, to swipe your sweat and finally let you feel something else than the stuffiness. You now notice your vision is blured a little. "Nice, isn't it?" "You sound relaxed." you whispered. "Something happened?" He smiled a bit which is something new. 'Listen, look and value." You peeked outside a barrier. There were people walking around, even some cars passed from time to time, colorful lights from veriety of shops reflecting in their glasses. You appreciated the sounds coming from clubs down below, the city now dormant in the atmosphere made from this short summer night. You only just now saw his hand near you with his cigarette. He stretched his limb once again to let you know you can take a puff. "I don't smoke." "It's healthy to try sometime." You took it smiling a bit. This man... As you let the smoke go into you, you started coughing. "So..." he started looking at your struggles. "Sleepless night?" You nod as giving the object back to him but Blade didn't take it directly to his mouth now. His soft gaze landed on your face. "I rarely see you smoking but when you do... you seem to can't stop." No words escaped his mouth. He reached a pocket in his trousers instead and took another cigarette from the package. He put a stub into his mouth and held it there while trying to light another one. He let the smoke escape his lungs once again and then chuckled so soft you almost didn't hear it. "I told you before. It's a bad habit." You let those words to circle around your head as you watched him closely. Blade threw the leftover on the floor and trampled it. Then placed a new cigarette into his lips to hold it in place. He cups his hand over the lighter he had in another pocket and flicked it, causing the cigarette to ignite. A small fire made his face lighten in warm colors for contrast with all those blue-ish lights that were hugging you two from around. You catch his gaze. Blade doesn't say anything, just offers you a cig. Without any bigger problems you take a puff and try not to cough again. You place your elbows on the barrier and look down still holding the burning stogie. "I can't sleep too, you know..." You heard on your left. He was leaning on the barrier as well as you, his back facing the streets. You sigh heavily. "Yeah." you looked at him with more interest. Especially at his bandages. "I..." he noticed your gaze covering his chest. "I'm fine. I'll survive... Same goes for you." You smile as he points to the cig you were holding. He took it from your hand and moved it to his lips. "I guess we're both made just to suffer." you turn to look at him. His eyes now all on you, Blade lets out a low yet gentle laugh.

I haven't written a POV in a second but *Continue to crack my fingers* it's time. it was only supposed to be a quick visit. it was only supposed to be a quick hello. but no it was more than that. You were several days away by car for college and haven't been back to your hometown since the start of last summer. Last summer that was when you met him. He was one year older yet at a party in your hometown for the start of summer. "come on! spin the bottle!" Your friend laughed at you for not taking a turn to spin the bottle, as you tried to argue the crowd started to chant your name. You had no choice but to spin the bottle. As the bottle spun round and round hoping it would land on your crush that you've had since freshman year. But no. It had to land on a stranger. As you looked at the stranger he put down his drink and walked over to you.. and strangely held out his hand.. "I'm Blade." Everyone looked at you both curious before your friend pushed you into him accidentally kissing him. You backed up and cleared your throat shaking his hand "I'm ___" He hummed and smiled "You're a good kisser" Suddenly before you got to respond there were sirens and everyone ran When you got to your car and drove off you kept thinking about the kiss and the strange man. Later that week you were down on the boardwalk watching the ocean and the turtles just swimming in the water when you accidentally bumped into someone. "Oh sorry- oh hey aren't you that one girl?" A familiar voice said and you looked at him it was blade. "oh hey blade" you said as you took his hand and stood up "What are you doing here?" you smiled and shook your head "Nothing just looking for something to do" He smiled "Well I have a few hours before I have to get back and feed my dogs, would you wanna grab a bite to eat?" That was supposed to be it. Only a bite to eat. This was the calm before the storm. As you lay in bed blade came in shirtless smoking a cigarette. You sat up and scratched the back of your neck "Hey, blade I need to talk to you about something-" "Sorry I have to pick up this call, we can talk later okay?" He said as his phone rang and he kissed your head. How would you tell him that you would attend college at the end of the summer? As he walked back in he sighed and walked over to his closet grabbing out his suit and shoes "I got called on an emergency mission babe, I'll be back later tonight okay?" you smiled and nodded before kissing him and watching him walk out The days coming up to your leave date were a blur and eventually it was time you never told Blade yet he knew something was up. "Babe after work we need to talk okay?" He said looking at you with worried eyes before kissing you and walking out the door. That was the last you saw him. You thought it was over. You picked up one of the old cigarettes off the balcony and threw it down below into the street. “You should start taking care of yourself more…” “It’s the millionth time I’ve heard this from the same person who never feeds herself, calling it ‘loosing weight’ it’s been a few years since I last saw you eat.” You remained quiet. Unwrapping the bandages from his body applying rubbing alcohol to clean the scars, and then the remedy. Bandaging him back up, you kissed his back. “You can go smoke now. Close the door please.” you whispered. He went outside and closed the door. The sent still lingered in. You walked back to the bathroom putting the supplies away, “Fuck,” you whispered to yourself, and the tears welled up. You sat silently crying yourself away. You got up off the floor and looked into the mirror. You were a mess… and had no energy whatsoever to do anything. He walked in from the balcony with you nowhere in sight. He asked Kafka down stairs where you went, but as expected Kafka knew nothing. He went back upstairs into the bathroom with you leaning up against the sink heaving breathes. Your vision blurred, you looked over to him, he looked like a haze in your eyes. Spirit like. He walked over to you and wrapped his arms around you. “I’m sorry…” you apologized. “What the hell should you be sorry for, just stop crying there’s nothing wrong…” “I’m sorry, I’ll start eating I promise.” Your legs fell weak, he too went down with you. “Stop being a pain in the ass it was a joke I’m the one who should be saying sorry. C’mon get up.” Your legs trembling he stood you back up. He picked you up in bridle style and laid you in bed. “Just rest here, I’ll even stop smoking for you if you’ll stop…” he threw the pack off the balcony. He covered you with a blanket and knelt down beside the bed to match your eyesight. He sat there, and with him insight you drifted back to sleep. An eternal night is where you were, “Please, I’ll take care of myself more, just stop hurting yourself…” I’m totally normal about blade even though this would be nothing like him agrhrgehshejsb totally 🤭-Ace 2024(me)
