For so long in my spiritual journey, I was "knocking" on God's door, desperate to find him somewhere. But these words make me realize that perhaps I've been going about it backwards, and it's God knocking on my door waiting for me to open. How different would this world be if we all learned to "live love?" Definitely an interesting poem for me to ponder...thanks for sharing!

the point is that you dont need to do anything but lovingly embrace the here and now for that is where the spiritual seeking ends... When you realize this, you graduate from a spiritual seeker to a spiritual finder... good luck to you

Thank you for this! Eckhart my favorite. This almost had me in tears. Reading his brief history, he was abused for his thinking. Had it very very difficult.

The real world is a world of matter and energy but the interplay of these two is hidden from us by the fog of dreams in which we spend most of our time. Learning to see this play of forces is part of our struggle to enter the real world. Hence the aphorism: In all actions strive to see the play of the three forces. ROBERT S. De ROPP

I love the atmosphere and sound in this video. I read one of Eckharts books, which has a collection of his sermons. But some of the meanings get mixed up, because of interpretations and translation. It actually needs many reads, because of the "beyond deep" concepts used. Still worth the read for the open minded, and preferably familiar with buddhism, ZEN and nonduality (advaita). Very experiential teachings pointing to the natural state of "being" and mental emptiness. It is what it is.

"We have seen the highest circle of spiraling powers. We have: named this circle God. We might have given it any other name: we wished: Abyss, Mystery, Absolute Darkness, Absolute Light, Matter, Spirit, Ultimate Hope, Ultimate Despair, Silence. We come from a dark abyss, we end in a dark abyss, and we call the luminous interval life." ~ Nikos Kazantzakis

What is the name of this magnificent poem?
@felixx20123 ай бұрын
It is sometimes called Here and Now, and can be found in the book "Here and Now - Meister Eckhart’s Book of the Heart: Meditations for the Restless Soul (Jon M. Sweeney & Mark S. Burrows)", but strictly speaking Meister Eckhart did not write poetry, and this is prose that just works out nicely like poetry

Be in the moment...uhhh show me how you can ever be anywhere but in the moment. It’s impossible to be anywhere else but in the moment guys. Even when you’re living in the “past” that living arises in the present moment.
@Asangoham2 жыл бұрын
By being in the moment, what they mean is being present. It means that you should observe things without judging and be aware of your present thoughts including remembering or planning without getting lost in them unwillingly to see things as they truly are.
