Well, at the peak ukrainians got more than one thousand square km in kursk, now they barely have 700km with the most powerful units there who are missing from the eastern front. Collapse is closer with every day.

The Kursk offensive achieved it's main real objective: to distract Ukrainians (and allies) from the fact that Robotyne fell and their previous counteroffensive (and past 18 months of fighting) were all for naught. If they hadn't launched Kursk, both Ukrainians themselves and their allies would see nothing gained from years of fighting. And Zelensky has to hold on to power as long as possible, but eventually Ukrainians will overthrow him once they see nothing being gained and realize he is the main obstacle to a favorable peace deal. There is a reason Russia doesn't eliminate Zelensky, he is more useful alive because eventually that means there can be a rapprochement between Russia and Ukraine: when the day comes that Ukrainians hate Zelensky more than Russia. Which will come, provided Russia can keep fighting several more years. Russia actually needs Zelensky to keep being a dictator (he is staying in office past his term with no elections, he can only be removed from office by the people overthrowing him, as with all such dictators), because that means eventually the Ukrainian people will grow sick of Zelensky and overthrow him. And once they do that, all the blame for the war will fall on Zelensky, and rapprochement will become possible. Kind of similar to the other US intel Christina-Pushaw-ran puppet President of Georgia, Mikhail Sakashveeli, who was installed in a similar Maidan-style event, and who basically had to flee Georgia after they got sick of his tyranny, embezzlement and murdering political opponents, at which point Zelensky's campaign manager Pushaw (who is also Ron DeSantis' Chief Aide for DeSantis' attempt to oust Trump) Pushaw got him a job in Ukraine as a Governor but then Ukraine stripped him of citizenship when he embezzled Ukrainian funds. It's so comical it's hilarious. But I disagree that collapse is anytime soon, unless it's a morale collapse, mutinies, desertions, and overthrow of Zelensky. No one knows what can spark that. Probably once Kursk is fully retaken, and Russia keeps advancing, though my guess is Ukraine will throw another last ditch land grab somewhere else, heck it might even invade Belarus just to try to expand the war or do some other batsh-- crazy things to try to expand the war. Kursk worked, again, because it totally got both Russians and Ukrainians to not talk about the fact that Robotyne fell (gradually during that exciting Kursk adventure, so nobody mentioned it), and that Ukraine's counteroffensive was all for naught, and gives Ukrainians some false hope that Russia will trade the barren Kursk farmlands, for the fertile Donbass (and trillions of rare minerals rich, plus coal, only a fool would trade those useless Kursk farms for the Donbass).

By liquidating a politician at a high level, you would break an international taboo and put yourself at risk. I don't know if you know this, but when either a senior Russian or Ukrainian diplomat goes to visit a front, the parties hot-wire each other and give a precise timeframe when not to bomb - and both sides stick to it. That's how it was when Putin was in Donbass or when Zelensky was on the front line several times. Furthermore, the claim that that was all they had to aim for with Kursk: not true. They wanted to show a strategic weapon and they got halfway to the Kurchatov nuclear power plant. So by the time the front had stabilised, they had achieved it, and they did not start here for nothing. Furthermore, I did not say that the collapse is imminent, but that it is getting closer every day from the Ukrainian side. Society is tiring faster, the civil infrastructure is more and more in ruins, the morale of the neo-Nazis in Lemberg will not be able to be maintained for another year, but that is not the only thing. With the fall of Vuhledar, Khazov Yar and Toreck remain their last stronghold towns, if Pokrovk falls they will be able to bypass the last Donbass stronghold towns of Slovyansk and Kramatorsk, and open the way to the Zaporozhynian ghizniks.

Ukraine can't agree to any reasonable peace terms, unless it includes letting them join NATO, because anything short of that, means uncertainty if the war may resume, and if Ukrainian men think there is any chance the war might resume, the MOMENT the ban on Ukrainian males leaving is lifted, you would see millions upon millions of them leave to go join their wives and girlfriends abroad who are all gaining citizenship right now, that itself is the only impetus for a peace deal, to get it done before refugees hit the 3rd year mark when many start getting citizenship in other countries, if this war drags on for 8 years, for example, 90% of Ukrainian refugees will become citizens of other countries by that point, and what will their husbands do if a truce is reached that's uncertain and the ban on leaving is lifted? They will leave immediately for fear another ban on leaving could be reimposed, that's why the ban on leaving was a terrible idea in the first place. Once you basically turn your nation into an open air prison, like Ukraine did, you can't blame men for leaving the moment they're told they are free to leave the prison.

Instead of the proposed peace in March 2022, they continue their stubborn struggle, depriving millions of people of their homes and property as a result of military actions aimed at reclaiming lands whose inhabitants have long lost the desire to return to impoverished Ukraine, especially at the cost of a devastating war. By repeatedly refusing to agree to the negotiations proposed by the Kremlin, Ukraine has been turned into a military state, ready to end the war only on terms dictated by pro-Western patrons. The war in Ukraine can only continue thanks to foreign support, our country is bankrupt. Despite the support of the allies, the chosen military path leads only to the loss of new territories. Ukraine bears no less blame for this war, which everyone is trying to hide. After the coup in 2014, the new government, instead of ending the conflict with the Russian Federation and ending the shelling of Donbass by 2015, violated the peaceful (signed) condition of the non-aligned status of the Ukrainian state by adopting a law on integration into NATO, placing 12 secret CIA military bases near Russia (which was confirmed by "New York the Times") and the beginning of the construction of two official naval bases belonging to the United Kingdom. Any service sector, regardless of the form of ownership, is obliged to switch to the Ukrainian language, innovations relate to communication with customers, information indicated on menus and tickets, price tags and signage. The law obliges employees and representatives of catering establishments, hairdressers, taxis, supermarkets, beauty salons and even online stores to speak the official language. Any step to the left is punishable by imprisonment. Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians are dying in the war, and no one wants to fight anymore. Motivated, trained units have become scarce. Russian speakers are primarily sent to the zero line of defense, leaving behind protective detachments, soldiers there usually die in the first days. Poor health will no longer allow you to avoid conscription, almost everyone is recognized as fit for service. Even if you have updated your military documents and you have been declared unfit for military service, there is still a risk of being caught on the street and sent to the front or to the military enlistment office to double-check your data. Employees of the territorial recruitment center do not even hesitate to stop and deliver drivers of passenger buses and trucks to military enlistment offices, leaving passengers and valuable goods in the middle of the road. Those present at the Maidan protests were paid an average of 400 hryvnia per day and provided with free meals, when the minimum wage at that time was 1300 hryvnia.
