@DocCason97933 ай бұрын
Agreed! Absolutely annoying. OBVIOUSLY no research into his “opinion” and or “context” on what it was he did look up! He was injured (season 1 gone). He was suspended (which he was actually vindicated and his suspension was cut IN HALF bcuz it had already gone that long when they actually reevaluated the situation in which he was only betting on the FINAL 4 tournament games IN HIS CAR) despite the league being in bed with gambling sites! Then in season 3 the coaching staff MADE HIM work his way up the depth chart because he did have some raw technique and couldn’t develop in normal time (he has always relied on his speed so they didn’t develop as much). UNTIL THIS SEASON! He has worked! He WILL BE A WR 2 this season! Mark it! (Not just a homer, did my research). BTW, his speed is actually maybe faster than it was at Bama’ bcuz he’s gained 10lbs of good muscle! I liked Matt’s analysis. Good work!

I don’t blame the gambling thing on him due to the fact the NFL ended up shortening his suspension and reworded the rules. 1 he didn’t bet on the NFL. He made a bet on college which is allowed. He did it after working hours in his hotel. What he didn’t understand was because the Lions paid for the hotel, it made the hotel a team facility.
@Motor-City_Ben-Diesel3 ай бұрын
This is Jamos first off season that he is going to have a full camp and the first time he’s running with the 1s the whole time. Dan Cambell doesn’t give players compliments for no reason and doesn’t bull shit and he’s already come out and said Jamo is looking night and day compared to last year. Also Goff and Him have never been able to get a bunch of reps going into the season so they can get on the same wave lengths. The Lions would not go into this Super Bowl season with Jamo as our wr2 if they didn’t believe he could do it. He also isn’t going to be playing the X anymore and just running deep routes lined up on the line of scrimmage. I believe he gets over 1000 yards and 8tds this year. The Lions have 48mil in cap space and if they thought they needed someone else at wr they’d get that guy to replace Jamo. Reynolds is gone and Jamo is going to see about 80-100 targets easy. It’s Jamos breakout year. Also the ACL didn’t slow him down. He is one of the top 5 fastest players in the league. All the Lions players talk about his speed at practice and that they’ve never seen anything like it. Adding DPJ and Smith are both just depth moves.

Jamo’s gambling suspension was a stupid league rule. Why are we still holding that against him? He tried to do it the right way and was simply a victim of technology. Also, the Lions run a very detailed offense. We know teams don’t practice much during the season. Jamo didn’t practice much 1st two seasons. Where does Jamo get these details? Also, He has gotten stronger per Randle-El. That will help against press coverage. Jamo will be fine. It’s this micro wave society that is the issue. If you can acknowledge the circumstances, why are you looking at stats in this manner? Also, his coach simply wanted him to get better week over week last season. Campbell was happy with it. All that really matters.

There is no nuance in this breakdown, just numbers. We we traded up to draft him. It was with the understanding that we needed to groom him. The things he had in spades and things that aren't coachable, speed, love for the game, willingness to block/ play special teams. The gambling suspension definitely slowed his timeline, but we didn't sign Reynolds back for a reason, and no, it wasn't his drops in the NFC Championship. It was because since calling his name, he was going to be a starter year three when the competitive window opened... granted as a team, we are farther along having opened a SB window, but Jamo is going to open it up this year, and the only people who won't be shocked are the fans who understand the plan

@Ibhena1264 nah man that's mis information. Reynolds stood in the locker room through 3 separate media scrums after the loss and answered every single question and didn't hide or back down from anything. He left it all out on the field and it's unfortunate that he couldn't make those catches, but he is a professional. He didn't come back because it would have been for less money and a backseat to Jamo"s progression plan. He wants to start and took the best deal out there, simple as that

*_That_* is what makes me _nervous about_ Dan Campbell's recent praise of him. Campbell exerts way more control over players than he was forced to have when *he* played. I've coached, trained etc. In my experience, they aren't trying to change JW for _his_ good. They're trying to make him conform to whatever appeals to _themselves._ It could still be something he needs in his life. But just as most people become impatient hearing about how individuals need individual help, most people don't *give* such. They just try to make everyone else conform to whatever they wish to impose.

Gambling suspension was his fault, no doubt. I do give him a little grace when realizing he was in his car betting & his phone connected to the facility WiFi, which is why he got in trouble. Jamo's gonna be in his bag this season, not a Nico Collins-type year 3 but maybe Devonta Smith? Reynolds gone will keep him on the field for hopefully 80% of snaps vs 60% this past year, and he'll be the #3 target w/ long ball upside. I see a high-end WR3, low-end WR2, ultimate best-ball candidate.

I really can’t believe this is what we think is good football analysis. This is nothing but reading math problems and trying to find people who fell into those categories. No player has entered the league with the 1st two seasons like Jamo did. The Lions playing him in year 1 has done more damage to him than it was worth. People still count year 1 against him knowing he didn’t practice. Year 2 didn’t go the way we wanted. This video is one of the more silly ones that I have seen.

Anyone claiming they know who Jameson Williams is or what he can do on the football field in the NFL is full of malarkey. He's 23 years old and he's had a grand total of 51 targets in 18 total games. His last 3 games regular season games he saw 16 of those 51 targets. And another 9 targets in the post season. In his total of 31 receptions both regular and post season he's had 4 touchdowns. He's had another 5 rushes with 2 of them going for touchdowns. That's 6 touchdowns for 36 touches. And he's just 23 years old. In a pass heavy league, Jonathon Brooks ( a guy who has barely seen a football field) is going around pick 66 while Jameson Williams (who has played in 18 NFL games) is going around pick 130. And he's roughly the 3rd or 4th option on their team.
