You could build something very similar with an MDT ESS chassis with folding stock and a Terminus Zeus quick change action. Would only require 2 hex wrenches but you’d save $3,000 to $5000 on cost.

To be fair, if you already have a space for a handgun with a can, you could fit there a flux Raider or a small PCC, which will be easier to shoot. Handgun is easier to conceal on your body, so of you already go with the effort of carrying a bag gun, go with something bigger and easier to shoot

Larue makes a similar rifle for around $4k (includes two barrels) but does require a proprietary torque wrench. For me personally if I need a compact covert gun it's probably gonna be an AR platform because fast follow-ups are important and it can be made to be a QTD/QA system for a ton cheaper.

$7400 on sale or $9400 regularly is steep but a HIGH END rifle is always $5-6k It TOTALLY depends on the use/need. The FOLDAR shoots MOA and can fold down to 12" and opens a HELL OF A LOT FASTER (8 seconds to take off back pack, remove rifle, open it and fire. Compared to 40+ seconds) Regardless, Im a huge fan of this, I loved the Nemesis Vanquish as well, the idea of a backpack rifle is so damn cool

You guys are a little late to the party. I've had this setup since 1994. Paid pretty penny for it and all in a great package. I can walk around with zero Halliburton briefcase but it's what's inside that counts with 4 - 20 rd mags. I had H.S. precision out of south dakota build for me. All of it broke down in 3 parts stock, receiver with scope and mount, barrel was custom rotating receiver pop bolt open put on at 45degree rotate to lock bolt goes home over and over. Mags were seperate. Consistent 1/2" moa. Wish i had laser range finder today back then, kerstel and better optics but it was state of the art for its time.

This rifle would be amazing to use hunting in Alaska and Yukon Canada on long backpacking hunting excursions, rifle can fit nicely in your pack, i use a rifle that's very similar while hunting, but not as compacts, I still have a bit of issues with it offsetting my pack while on backpacking, and becomes uncomfortable over time

I love it. I can not afford it, ha. I do not even have a specific need for such a compact system, but it would store very easily, and going to the range would be simple and easy. The price is not crazy either. I mean it is expensive, but I understand why it is that price. Sub half MOA is impressive. Now, as for a less expensive option, your insane level of machining is only really needed for the receiver and barrel. The hand guard precision machining is only needed if you have an aiming device on it, so we can just machine thread that. Hum,...starting with a less expensive rifle base. That would make the rifle 1MOA instead of 0.5MOA, but for poor civi me, that might be okay for my application. Lets see...that stock is very nice and very expensive. I am sure we can go with a less nice option. I think I could shave...hum....a few grand off the price, and it would still be 80% as effective. That would be going for a different demographic of course, ha.
