A private forest called Jabarkhet Nature Reserve

A businessman and a conservationist have developed a 100-acre forest area in Mussoorie as a private nature reserve. india.mongabay...
The reserve is managed and run with the engagement of the local community and over the years has become a safe space for a variety of wildlife including bears and leopards who routinely visit the area. It is also home to hundreds of species of birds, flowers, ferns and fungi.
The duo developed the private forest area, Jabarkhet Nature Reserve, as a company rather than a charity and within five years they have broken even.
It an example that proves that conservation can be a viable business model.
