Good video Tom, you did a great job of hiding the new pipe runs as far as you could. It is a shame the plumbers of yesterday were fitting such crap as micro ore when they were only a few feet away from a 15 or 22mm pipe.🤷‍♂️ The increased head in the system and low rates pretty much guarantees that system dirt will settle in the low flow micro bore legs.
@PlumbLikeTom
@PlumbLikeTom Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the support as always Norman, things are just done for speed on these sorts of developments, microbore is quicker and cheaper to hide behind the dot and dab walls, like you say it does eventually lead to problems, what also didn't help this system was that it had been added onto

Hi Tom, another enjoyable film there thank you, I have done quite a few domestic 10mm to 15mm central heating system conversions. I always enjoy that kind of work, as I love copper pipe and soldering. I’m sure the system will be lots better with the 15mm pipe work. Another great job there Tom, have a great weekend and as always, take care. 👍👍👍

@@diddywright6165 It's always good to get opinions off people who use the tools mate, there's some stuff that I've bought over the years that has been a complete waste of money, with social media now we get bombarded with products that aren't always as good as they seem, that's why I'm not sponsored by anyone, I wouldn't ever want to mislead anyone into wasting money, I only ever show the tools that I have bought myself and I think are good, I just turned down a potential sponsorship from a fairly big tool company because I want the videos to be honest and real, thanks for all the support as always and you're opinion will definitely always matter to me

I bought an old house just before Christmas, the whole heating system is done in 10mm pipe and manifolds. I am tearing out the lot in a few months time. It’s a disaster, half the rads don’t work and a couple of leaks downstairs. I got a gas engineer to check the boiler when I moved in, he nearly died laughing at the state of the pipework. 😂
@PlumbLikeTom
@PlumbLikeTom Жыл бұрын
Hope you get it all sorted mate, there is an estate near me where they put the manifolds under the baths, an absolute lash up if you ask me, you are probably doing the right thing removing it, at least that way you will have a reliable heating system
@jimh4072
@jimh4072 Жыл бұрын
@@PlumbLikeTom. Thanks for the reply. I have a suspicion the manifolds here are under the bath too. I have not been able to find them anywhere else and there are a lot of 10mm pipes on that side of the house. Looking forward to getting rid of it all. I enjoyed watching your video and seeing you take care to hide the dropped pipes from upstairs. In my last house they were just run down the middle of the wall 🤣 Under the bedroom floors was a maze of pipes that held nearly as much water as the radiators held, I just scraped the lot and started again.

Long days in the saddle Tom. I hate microbore to be honest, I know if it’s well looked after it can be a good system with fast flow rates and the likes but most people don’t look after them well enough and before you know it you get exactly what you’ve just cut out, and a plumber gets black hands 😂
