How does it do in the real world?

Really depends on the wood you feed it. Where we are located we can get unlimited straight logs so our videos are indeed real world, for this area. For other areas I would recommend checking out videos from Ohio Wood Burner (Ohio), Hometown Acres (Pennsylvania), and Jacob Willis (Connecticut).

whats the biggest size log can run through it.. how well does it work on oak/ mostly oak and hickory here

The 365 can do 14 inch max diameter and a lot of customers put oak and hickory through them.

Yes, the 405 can do 16 inch diameter logs, and it also comes with the perfect split system which eliminates the need for resplitting logs.
