I used to be a dedicated dog person and thought cats weren’t for me. My girlfriend and I were chosen by this beautiful black cat from the streets and took him in and when I say he is literally THE best pet. Practically a dog and so kind and affectionate and fun to be with. I quickly came around and am at odds with whether I am a cat person now or a dog person still, but our baby boy Sake ( pronounced like alcohol in Japanese ) is an absolute blessing in our lives! Your videos/ channel has inspired me to read a book a month this year as a resolution and I finished Picture of Dorian Gray in January and I’m reading Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness this month. It’s been so nice to put my nose in books again so thanks for the inspiration!

It’s crazy how a person you look up to so much can make you want to read a book or an author: in school, last year we were supposed to read Under the jaguar sun and I really was not feeling it so I didn’t read it, but the second you mentioned this book and this author I remembered that and wanted to read him right away cause I was like “oh! I know that author!” haha so here I am, excited to read him after not wanting to in school. Also I’m so happy you have Grendel now! It's funny how similar our situations are (were) - I too got really "done" with living in London (in the UK) and went back home for what was supposed to be a week-long trip turned month. I rescued a grey kitten this summer that looks a lot like Grendel. Around the same time, we also rescued a little orange kitty. So now I have an orange and a grey kitty as well! They are best bros now and the orange one is ALWAYS trying to clean the grey one. It's so precious. Cats are wonderful.

I love these vlogs you make! They are perfect videos to relax by and slow down a bit. Especially when you get a new kitten ❤. We also have a water fountain for our cat. He loves it!! A little tip (you probably already thought of it) we also keep a ‘normal’ water bowl nearby for 2 reasons. In case the power goes out and if our cat starts drinking from the normal bowl, we know the fountain needs extra cleaning (apart from the filter I mean).
