OH HEY I KNOW WHERE THAT IS! I learned to race there and was a junior instructor. Thank you for the excellent tips. Hopefully someday I'll have a DF 95 and utilize this info

Bear in mind that some mast cranes are mounted 5mm higher than others straight out of the factory(it can be corrected before assembly),so that stick can at times not be an accurate measurement. This will also affect the mast ram position.

good video. Brad read, I have a question for you on one of your videos about setting reference lines for main and jib. where do the second set of points come from? are they the intersection of a line drawn from the first set of points to the center of the boom(in the case of the main)? thanks

Hello. Tks for the videos. How do you do to pass 90º on froint sail? Tks

great video, thanks. One question, if you set the jib boom to be forward when it's let right out, doesn't that then make it a bit to wide when close hauled?
@alannewman85 Жыл бұрын
That’s what I thought. And don’t you need the set-up at its best when close hauled compared to when you’re running?

You state mast rake in light air should be 1138mm I’ve used 1140-1143mm and found those settings fast. I’ve also twisted off much more in 0-3kn of breeze.

Hi there I am trying to set up my jib with the snipe technique. How far past 90 degrees do you go please? And I have tried and tried! But I cannot get the jib when sheeted in correct. It’s way to loose. What am I doing wrong please? Brett

Great info ...but main boom at 90° ...the DF95 Manual says 80° max! Jib also out at 90° + ?

Having the jib poled out waaay forward is a very fast technique on some full size sailboats, including the west coast Mercury and apparently the Snipe. The leech ends up acting a lot like a luff.

At time stamp 13.37, a beautiful example of 88 infringing R18.3 (tacking in the zone) and 07 reacting perfectly to take his entitled Mark Room. This move should be used to demonstrate the rule! But 88 didn't take his penalty! Disqualify 88!
