Thanks Paul. I was worried that the puncture at the top of Hole Rake was going to wreck it but it all adds to the story I suppose.

@@Stopadoodledoo I’ve just found your channel and am enjoying catching up. I recognise these trails from running them but at the moment I am recovering from knee surgery and might need to find a new hobby. I have a hard tail mtb and enjoy pottering about at Whinlatter but what I really enjoy is exploring so great to see the possibilities.

Another cracking video fella, the OTB I had was at the part of the big boulder ( 12.10) the guy I was out with that day was sure the boulder was fairly recent as well. Loving the clips
@Stopadoodledoo4 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate and yeah, that boulder definitely wasn't there back in January when I did this route last. Not the sort of place you want to be going over the bars.......

Not sure about all the climbing that was necessary for this ride but damn did the descents ever look like a good time! I’m most impressed by the high speed camera wipes. Great video as always
@Stopadoodledoo4 жыл бұрын
Cheers mate. The climbs are pretty hefty but well worth it for the epic descents, trust me 😃👍

It's a stunning first scene. Such clear, azure blue sky. The hills looking so defined and ready to be attacked. Wonderful, oh I some great riding too despite the puncture.

I’ve been so lucky with rides up in the Lakes recently; a sunny day in autumn up there is just magical, especially with the colours you get. Still gutted about the puncture as I have been wanting to film Hole Rake ever since I started the channel

Cracking ride Jason pity about the flat tire but at least you got to soak in the views beautiful day for it
@Stopadoodledoo4 жыл бұрын
Yeah Rich, the puncture was a bummer but it’s the first I’ve had (on the full susser) in over a year so mustn’t grumble. Maybe I should have checked that my spare tube wasn’t knackered too (it was an ancient 26” DH one with patches on it - I always *try to* fix them 🙂

🤣 so bad sleeping in and missing this ride, gutted but at least we will be going back and doing it in future. So lucky with the weather again! Bloody stunning views and riding in lakes. Certainly looked challenging, stunning, stunning, stunning, Shaun 🤣🤣 Good riding with a flat as well mate, quicker than most of us with a fully functional bike 😒😳

Gutting to see what they have done to Tilberthwaite. That used to be a fantastic techy bedrock descent dropping into Little Langdale
@Stopadoodledoo4 жыл бұрын
It is a shame and from what I have heard, it was done to deter the local 4x4 companies from using it; no point when it's like someone's drive. Never the best trail in the area but it was a nice one and a good way to get over to, or from Tilberthwaite. Still probably more enjoyable than through the ford and the woods though.

Recently subscribed and was wondering are your routes available to download from strava, I agree the Lake District is awesome for mountain biking can’t wait for this tier 4 lockdown crap to end so I can get back over there.

Hi Paul. I do use Strava (I can be found on there by searching for Stopadoodledoo) but don't always record, depending on where I am riding and how sensitive the location is. This one is up there though. Chatting to my Mum earlier (my parents live in the South Lakes) and she informed me that the weather was absolutely lovely; no wind, clear blue sky, etc., perfect weather for a ride. It was grey and drizzling here. I saw 2020 in with a night ride up in Cumbria with a few mates (Tony, who's in this video, being one of them) - no such luck this year 😔

@@Stopadoodledoo great 👍 I am now following and found the ride I will download it for my garmin, weather up here (Northumberland) has been ok had some sun and blue sky also let’s hope it continues but probably won’t 😂, I am going to work my way through the rest of your videos, thanks again Paul 👍

I do have one, it's a Reverb and the circlip in the bottom broke months ago. I have the service kit but lacking the tools (a vice) to fix it and can't get it into a shop for love nor money. To be honest, as most of the rides I do are either big ups then downs, or messing around at DH places, it's not really been an issue but I do want to get it fixed at some point!
@AdventureTrailsMTB4 жыл бұрын
@@Stopadoodledoo Thats a common fault. I have one in the workshop with exactly the same issue . reverbs are great when they work but have soooooo many issues.
@Stopadoodledoo4 жыл бұрын
To be fair to it, it had 14 months of abuse before it went and it was only the circlip although it does make you wonder whether they should have used such a weak one!

Hi mate. I am on Strava as Jason Thomas (Stopadoodledoo). If you search for Hole, there are two loops on there that take in these trails. The 2019 one is better as it takes in Iron Keld on the way back (I had more time that day)
@n31lrc3 жыл бұрын
nice ride must add that to my to do list. Don't suppose you have a gps route do you?
@Stopadoodledoo3 жыл бұрын
Hi mate. It’s on Strava (Jason Thomas Stopadoodledoo), 11th October 2020. If you have the time, climb up from Coniston to Tarn Hows and then down Iron Keld, before heading back to pick up the route at Little Langdale. We ran out of time on this ride but I’ve done that full loop in the past (sometime in 2019 but there are hundreds of rides in 2019 to go through to find it)
