Comparing the monotone and lifeless introduction (dreadfully boring and unnecessary lengthy) to John Bercow’s speech causes me to wonder if Harvard is a university operated by, let’s say, “special” management. It’s a shame for Americans that the greatest orators of recent times have been Trump with his 3rd grade vocabulary or Obama who says uhhhh after every third word; which is starkly telling about the intelligence of the US. Even at one of the most prestigious universities on the West Coast is under the authority of lifeless automatons as made evidenced by the introduction seen here. Talk to any young person in the US, educated or not, and you’ll soon realize that there’s not a whole lot going on upstairs. What a privilege it must be, surrounded by the rich culture of the UK and the virtuosity of the Royal Family-which contrasts with America as though it’s overflowing with domesticated cavemen.

Believe me, the people of the UK, particularly those who are NOT Tory supporters, which includes myself, Happy and proud to declare myself a member of the Labour Party of Jeremy Corbyn, just love John Bercow, he is a REAL HERO here in the UK. Why? Well it is obvious, because, despite being a Tory, he is absolutely DISGUSTED by the behaviour of the Tory MPs currently occupying, or, us Labour Party members say, temporarily squatting on the government benches. The Tories have reached an all time low in terms of the quality of people now joining their Party, which is now, in effect, DEAD, to all intents and purposes. I am not sure if people who have never lived in the UK fully understand just how poisonous, heartless, callous, criminal and corrupt the Tories in this country are. I call them the cancer within the British political system which needs to be cut out and got rid of FOREVER, John Bercow excepted. You have no idea how much the Tories HATE Bercow, they have tried on numerous occasions, to get rid of him as Speaker, simply because he does NOT allow the Tories to get away with anything, and it is only because of the support of the Labour Party and other opposition parties that he is currently Speaker of the House of Commons, and is going to retire, not because he has been bullied out by the Tories, at the end of 31 October. He wants to make sure that Boris Johnson does not break the law by seeking a no deal Brexit, which has now been made ILLEGAL.

John Bercow left the womb chewing on a dictionary. Personally i love him for it; I feel we should all strive to hold a vocabulary that can convey nuance or exactness, not just to sound posh, but words are fantastic and should be used and understood. I also feel very deeply for our American cousins, who while being very highly educated, probably struggled to keep up with a duluge of parlance with which they probably had never tangled, but hopefully gleaned from context. It's a joy to think that John justturned up and spoke, and just assumed everyone would keep up.

I also very much admire Stephen Fry, Peter Ustinov and Jonathan Miller as great orators. I was so happy to listen to John's speech which he delivered without notes and free from the annoying mannerisms that so many exhibit, for example "em", "um", "uh"; incredibly irritating habits. He is a brilliant orator.

Most memorable speaker since William Lenthall in 1642. "I have neither eyes to see, nor tongue to speak, in this place, but as the house is pleased to direct me, whose servant I am here." To Charles I when he was asked to the whereabouts of certain MPs.

This was a very interesting presentation, particularly the Q&A portion. It's very welcome to see and hear a professional politician who is capable of sustained qualitative discourse. I would also observe, if I may, that even though Speaker Bercow was unable to praise Harvard Univ. enough, to the point of suggesting that Harvard is the finest academic setting to be found anywhere, I would simply remind him that Cambridge University - in his own UK - has contributed more, thus far, to the shape and development and overall awareness of homo sapiens than any other single institution on the entire planet (not to mention that Cambridge U. has also produced more Nobel laureates than any other single institution). Which is perhaps why Harvard is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, which could be viewed as a form of recognition and perhaps even of homage.

Its much easier than House Speaker of the House of Commons. Less stressful. No Stress even. He might get bored. He went viral here in the States because he's so dynamic. I was surprised to learn he is a Tory MP. Here he would be considered a Moderate/Centrist Republican.

To me, Bercow is the last of a generation. The last of a generation we in the west are losing. The politicians as leaders, as representatives of a society based on reason, knowledge and dialogue. Leaders who can speak with precision and integrity, who dare to be wrong and who do not flaunt their so-called "qualities". Leaders who would act with the humble knowledge that their actions speak louder then words, and that their pen is sharper then the sword. Who understands the implications of how they act, to set an example. We were blessed with these leaders before, untill we took them for granted. We got a generation of leaders who had never had to fight, and who do not know how precious our societies are from internal tear. Who would stand for justice and openess, not use groups of people in political bargains. They knew that you had to cooperate with your enemies, not demonize them. That politics is the most important of human endevors and arts, not a spectacle to play for fame. And the people would vote with faith rather than hate. Of course things were generally better than before. But then our leaders would atleast try to instill hope, rather than we forcing them to hate. You will be missed Bercow, as one of the last bastion of decency, intellegence and suave in a struggeling democratic world.

Bercow is one very big reason why Parliament in the UK is now openly versus The People. He has shredded any last feelings of trust and respect for Parliament through his Brexit impartiality. He has passed laws to thwart the referendum result of 2016 and drives a car (apparently his wife's) sporting a "Bollocks to Brexit" sticker in the windscreen. He is, in short, a despicable snob who has shown the world how NOT to be a Speaker of the House of Commons. A fucking disgrace actually.

I really hope that the SNP manage to wangle a second referendum out of Brexit. And I hope this time, the people of Scotland see sense and vote correctly. An outstanding oratorical display from Mr Bercow. However without meaning to sound overscrupulous, or to detract in any sense from the powerfully engaging and creatively masterful deployment of the English language, nor more importantly the overarching and uniquely valuable insights he delivers into subject matter of which he clearly has world-class experience and understanding, at 09:33 he uses the word, "Physiognomy", when in fact I do believe the correct word he was intending to use in order to fit the meaning and context of his message, is "Physiology". That is of course unless Mr Bercow is anticipating the affect of age being of such significant impact on his facial expressions as to pull his entire physical form into a reduced format, which would suggest a potentially disturbing series of occurances to which I expect Mr Bercow did not intend his audience to imagine.
