In fact, such a direction as a pillbox tank has existed for a very long time. Such a tank, defending itself, deals poison damage (with the help of dot abilities), for example. There are also magical tanks - capable of killing another player without much difficulty. This is no longer a tin can with a shield and a sword in his hands - this is a serious enemy.

You can use the same build with temp using sun sheild bone sheilds and elemental weapons, i would add if you can id squeese in dots into your build a second source of damage helps burning enemies down.

Hey there, it works with the cavet that the damage is slightly lower due to crystal weapon getting nerfed. Your spell wall uptime is less due to oakensoul getting changed but that can be overcome by using deadric trickery instead of oakensoul. If using oakensoul drop heroic slash for a skill of choice. You can slot endless fury or haunting curse to charge up a burst combo and the combos are the same. I plan to revisit this build in a future patch so keep an eye out!

Especially in this meta, it would be great to match everyone elses tankiness but also be able to dish out a little damage too. And in Cyrodiil, being able to take resources and such without fear of being ganked and holding your own is a great combo!

@@MrJPD123 It's build that hits 63k hp on BG's which uses Harbinger and Gripping Shards to deal damage. It's basically unkillable most of the times. Depending on game you usually do 0.5 - 5mil of damage. You should try tanking bow ulti with this build 🤣

@itim_na_pusa2838 yeah I've got an improved version. It is on Patreon. I've also got a hevay attack build for pvp that I've made significantly better too that will come at some point. I post more niche stuff like this on Patreon or KZbin members because it doesn't perform as well as typical builds and in some instances is too broken and will be abused.

Quick question, if I was to use bound aegis and pop it right before spellwall increasing my block mitigation would that decrease the amount of damage reflected back to ranged attacks by spellwall? I guess it would have to right since they aren't hitting me as hard

Yes but block puts your mitigation effectively 80-90% anyway when factoring in battle spirit.

Trickery is better as it gives ult gen which means more shield ult. That counts as block thus procs hargbringer freely and is where the strength of this comes from.

Perhaps a year ago this build worked (which I doubt), but now it won’t. Here's why: 1) The damage returned by the set is reduced by battle spirit and then reduced by mitigations. That is, first, from 2500 damage, 1250 remains, and then 5% (minor protection), 10% (major protection), 30% (undead passive) are subtracted from there. That is, from these 1250 only 750 remain. I tested this set just a couple of days ago. This is trash. 2) In 90% of cases it does not kill with direct damage, it is overtime damage that kills. Relequins, vatesran destro staff, zaan, maarselok. And this damage is not blocked (and therefore not reflected). In the video there are some noobs who came to pvp with 18-30k HP. Right now in the Imperial City there are groups of 40-48k HP running around and 40k is a damage dealer, and 48k is a tank.

Pve class don't matter massively unless in high end raids. All class can tank well. Dk is the best. Sorc is my favourite pve tank. Warden is great pve tank too with necro similar. Pvp wise dk has best surival. Sorc has better damage output as a tank and next patch huge shields so worth a look into. Warden works amazing as a control tank snaring and debuffing targets.

This is similar to my troll sorc build I ran during the mid year mayhem event. It was more about survival and reducing damage than reflecting damage, as I just wanted to troll, but it was fun running through sieged breaches in cp cyro and burning sieges and being a general nuisance (interrupting, distracting, pulling with chains, etc) while there was nothing they could do about it. Lost count of how many defenses I pushed through and burnt to carry ad through that event, not to mention all the distracted zergs.

Btw baharas curse set and harbinger both scale off hp, one procs off damage other by being hit deals damage: theory if built by going full defence and hp could you proc both sets by blocking, if so with damage sheilds and dots that could be way op

Yeah. What makes it so potent is that spell wall is up so much that we can actually benefit from the set a lot now. Vampire stage 3 is also very useful as I explain due to skills and passives.

Love this. I have four sorcs, and in the past few updates it's really only been the Dunmer negate that survives in all pvp areas (uses magma, potentates, arkasis, markyn-better than oakensoul), and a lot of that is because of Exhilarating Drain. People kept telling me I was weird for being so close to enemies on a mag toon, but Drain is great. This build is perfect for my Imperial sorc though, because I wanted to run a S&B version again. Ready to try to it out.

Been leveling up my sword and board and vampire all week in order to play this. Finally, morphed to Spell Wall this morning, and I've been playing BG's all afternoon. I'm an Oakensoul-less scrub, so I've been playing two bars. I couldn't figure out how to fit a complete monster set, so I'm running Trickery, Potentates, Harbinger, and Ring of the Wild Hunt. My thoughts: 1. I'm not logging millions of kills, but I do get kills and assists each game. Definitely getting more on this build than on my templar healer xD 2. Nice and tanky! I'm dying considerably less often than I am used to. 3. I'm able to play the objective much more easily (except, maybe, for chaos ball). I am consistently placing 1st and 2nd for my teams, so I feel like I'm contributing just as much with this tank as I am with my healer. Verdict: I REALLY like the build! Normally healer is my jam for BG's, but this has been a LOT of fun. I think my templar is in danger of getting a bit dusty. Thank you for sharing the build :D

@@Unified-Gaming but if you are using mistform, you get 75% damage reduction on to from players for free and major expedition, blocking any attack will add 3200 "mag recov" aka 1600 instant regen still can use Monster set one baring if using two bars if not still get more utility from turtling

Na it's just the more damage you stack the higher the diminishing returns get. There becomes a point where extra damage doesn't help and people have realised that going to that point then a secondary area like defence or sustain works better.
