OH MY GOD NO WAY!!! I've been working on a pitch for my animation diploma and part of our requirement was to choose an story at least a century old, and in my searching I discovered La Bisclavret and fell in love! I'm so comforted I'm not the only person who interpreted the story this way, and I love how you approached the topic! Your analysis is very helpful for me, in that it gives me a clearer idea of how I can build off of the existing narrative while injecting my own interpretation. Thank you very much for uploading this!! La Bisclavret is such an underrated story

I'm glad you enjoyed my video! The essay was my final project for a class I took on love, sex, and marriage in the middle ages; there were definitely queer themes in a few stories we read, but this one was my favorite.

As a french queer teenager I was going insane at all the queer subtext of the lai when I was studying it back in high school and I'm so glad to see someone talking about it ! Your essai is really well done and a real joy to listen to ! The art you made is also really beautiful and I'm kind of surprised no one has mentioned it before, well-done ! (btw if someone's looking for another queer lai of Marie de France, Guigemar has a pretty heavy ace / aro undertone to it which I find fascinating)
