Makes you want to take a flamethrower to the field.. Thank you for the video, Carley

I wanted to capture some ticks on film, and saw Jane as soon as a crossed the fence. Jake found me as I was filming.

It just goes to prove Carley that size does not always matter. They cause some concern don't they? Take care of your bloody self. Mark
@Nerding4Nature6 жыл бұрын
They are a tad concerning. Lyme disease is a big problem in some areas, as is a few other diseases. The ones around here can cause temporary paralysis.
@WyeExplorer6 жыл бұрын
Yep, they are a foe of yours for sure. All protection to you...

On point. Such a nuisance, worst part is I don't bring my dogs a lot of places because of the tick exposure
@Nerding4Nature6 жыл бұрын
They sure to love dogs. All that fur to cling to and hide in. I barely want to bring myself outside in tick season.

very good. ticks are strange. ticks are evil.

What in the name of Batman have i just watched? Good to see these little bleeders close up though. Great capture.

Was sort of neat to observe them. I usually just glance at them before freaking out and brushing them off. They really give me an instinctive flight or fight response.

lol I know this has to be a first.... a tick musical. Nicely done, but I still don't like those buggers. On a recent trip to KS/OK we had the worst encounter yet. They were all over the car, tent, and we found them driving back to CO.

@Nerding4Nature6 жыл бұрын
Jake is smaller and sort of spotty. I figured this would be an issue. Who actually knows how to distinguish a tick’s sex? (unless they are trying to write a tick drama).

At least you could tell if a tick like this was on you... whereas I really had to search with a bright flashlight to spot the dozen or so that got on me this past weekend... about a tenth the size of the ones on this clip. fI also added in a couple hundred chigger bites and called it a successful adventure. Ugh.
@Nerding4Nature6 жыл бұрын
Gros. The ticks around here prefer smaller animals as their hosts when they’re in their larval and nymph life phases, so I’ve never had to deal with the little guys. No chiggers around here either.
