A buddy of mine works as building maintenance in a chemical plant and his office is in a basement. He had to come in one day during the weekend to replace a breaker box. He walked down the stairs and everything was pitch black - could not see even 5 inches in front of your face kind of dark. He got scared shitless thinking some kind of boogeyman was gonna jump out from the shadows lol

I used to work in a big library. Sometimes I'd work in the restricted area where all the unusual books were kept. In the evenings I was the only one there. I had to walk around the large space and turn off all the things. Switch off all the area lights one by one. Once I was done and everything was pitch black I had to walk the rest of the way in total darkness. I felt the weight of all those thoughts and words pushing me out. I was flying down those stairs, out into freedom!
