This was totally FUN!!. I didn't have the transparent red so I tried Burnt Sienna and Quin Sienna. I think the Burnt Sienna worked best. And the Quin Sienna added a nice touch to the trees. Thank you. I love Sodalite Gen. and that family of paints.

Have tried watercolor painting a few times but given up. Your style & wonderful landscapes have given me the urge to try again and hopefully this time produce something that will keep me motivated & keen. It is a joy to watch you paint & it looks so easy but as I have found out before it takes skill & patience which I have in short supply. Thanks for kick starting me again 😁👍 Joe

Thank you so much for your comment Joe. It makes me so very happy that my art inspires you to get back to watercolours. Watercolours can seem rather hard to control, but they are so much fun, and I found that when I let go of trying to control them is when I am finally feeling like I am actually getting the results I like! Enjoy - they are such a playful, free-spirited medium. Remember that they want to flow freely :)

So beautiful. What your ratio of paint to water - as a perpetual beginner I am a bit hit and miss with this! !
@AnastasiaMily Жыл бұрын
Thank you Pamela! The ratio of paint to water changes constantly and is very hard to describe exactly as it depends on the actual paint colour I am using. But generally I use the paint mixed to a consistency of cream (just like the cream used for whipping) to paint darker areas, the consistency of milk to paint midtones, and a very watery mix for the lighter areas. It certainly comes with experience so just keep on painting! :)
