I know nothing about the game, but I find your videos incredibly entertaining. Not sure if Elestrals is a game I'd love, though I did enjoy the original version of Yu-Gi-Oh some years ago.

Did you forget to mention stellars? aDrive’s content upbringing revolved heavily around finding 1 in 4096 shiny Pokémon. He incorporated a similar element into his game called stellars where you can find an alternate designed version, where each stellar card is numbered 1-99. Only 99 of each type of stellar exist in the world

I was just sticking to gameplay stuff, I didn't think the ultra rare chase cards were important in that regard.

Nice video overall. One thing to note is the cards have gotten alot of balance changes since prototype cards, and that the proto decks didn't have a ton of removal so they did tens to snowball. But it's less prevalent in constructed games Also I see you using my TTS mod 👀

I wish we would see more of their road map, I really don't wanna spend what they are asking on starters but if that'd the only product we get for like a year I may have to. The game is fine. But it really hyper focuses on some core issues of early GX yugioh without powerful removal. Will be interested in seeing set 2 if it ever exists

Strongly recommend Alpha clash kickstarter over this. Way more fleshed out game with a roadmap planned out to 2025. And they actually have a company and printed product. It isnt some goober that needs the kickstarter to fund the game. Elestrals has some potential but as you said it has some of the same glaring issues old school yugioh had plus the life resource mechanic, while interesting..is very poorly executed.

whit out ever seen this game i had a similar idea for a card game like this I was bulding on but I wasn't sure what to do with the "Life/Cost" I was trying to think of something like Duel Masters with 5 cards shiled, and I thogh of using flip coin rng but seen your video made me recalculate, meaby for another game mode. I am currently replaying Duel Monster on the ps2 and notice how slow the game is and am trying to figure out if I can use a similar meccanic and speed it up without going to complicated. I just want monster to trasmute into cost/and have a side "element base" i have an idea but also don't want to punish the losing player too much or stop the winning player

I havent backed a tcg kickstarter in years but i finally decided to. Alpha clash tcg is by far the most promising and fleshed out in my opinion. Wish it had a bigger following but it did get fully funded in 10 minutes so thats cool. I tried convincing myself to do sorcery, kryptik, GA and elestrals but just couldnt justify it. Market is so over saturated. At least elestrals plans for a digital release. Lot of potential there.

Tabletop Simulator on steam. You can play whatever people upload on there, so almost anything.

Great video as always. My biggest concern with the game is tying the life system to resources. It seems like if you're down big, it'd be hard to come back. Did that manifest at all?

Coming back from behind isn't impossible with a proper deck. The bigger someone's board gets the more points you have to ruin their game plan. I've found most contructed games I've played to come very close back and forth and mindgaming . It's a lot of fun

Its back and forth unless your pinned against a wall by a big chungus. You either have to expend all your resources to try and out it or dont even have enough resources to do so. If every card you play makes you take at least 1 life.. you should really have more than 20 life.

There are both elestrals and runes that allow you to reclaim spirits from the underworld once cast as well

@@diomedes8625 not nearly enough. This is something that can be easily fixed with more cards that do that, but imo the life total should be increased. It allows for more gameplay, more interaction and a much better chance of coming back after falling behind.

Seems like a fairly interesting game, but I'm not really in a position to be able to play even popular TGCs in person, much less semi-obscure Kickstarter TCGs. So if there isn't a digital version of the game I'm probably never going to touch it. There is a digital app version on the stretch goals list up next, but we'll see how that goes. $25 USD + Shipping + Tax is an insane ask for the buy-in to a TCG btw, if they can't get those prices down fast post-campaign this whole thing may well be dead in the water, and they're implying that prices will be going UP afterwards so that's not a great sign. Also not sure how I feel about them cheekily setting their goal on KS to $1, meaning that backers have no idea what the project managers think they need to succeed, and that said managers will be getting all the money donated to the project regardless of how hard it fails. Seems kinda scummy and I'm not sure why KS even allows you to do that. Between that and all the stretch goals that basically boil down to "Now that you've spent enough money collectively we're allowing each of you to spend even MORE money on more new products!" or "hey you all get 1 whole ($0.10) extra card on your order!" makes the whole thing feel less like a project getting itself off the ground, and more like a youtuber merch store with really predatory marketing gimmicks.

The $1 was becuase regardless adrive planned on sending the product out to people. The $25 starters ideally will come down in a potential retail launch but the decks do come with the majority of staples one would need in their decks so they have some value. A nice quality rules book and a 20sideed die

With all these KS games that have released and that have failed, I think I am spent on backing random games. With all the mainstream games, there's not enough time to play all of them. Especially if you go to locals once a week and just playing 1 card game takes 4-5 hours to just find a winner lol

Life Decking with the Resource Deck is...something. It seems like it will either lead to snowballing situations or OTK decks. I feel like it would be better to let cards act like spirits if played rotated 180°, and that's how you ascended elestrals...(like how Duel Masters does resource)... Also I'm a little confused if they intend to have 5 or 8 distinct colors/elements. It seems the first set uses only 5 distinct elements(Earth, Fire, Water, Wind, Thunder), but there's like 3 other ones(Ice?, Light?, & Dark?). Maybe it's a last minute change, but I think it's a good idea to reduce it down to 5(+ the neutral "Any" element cards).

There's going to be 8 elements, 5 of which are set 1. Also I've been playing alot of constructed and snowballing hasn't been too much an issue . Removal is cheap and efficient so playing big things with out protection is rough . But in bo3 with sideboards the games are constantly super close.

I don't think so, but it's definitely much easier to take something that works and change it a bit than to try to come up with a whole new system. There's also been a few hundred card games over the past 30 years, so chances are that one game is like another game somehow.

Great job with the video! As someone who's making a TCG with Life as the main resource too, its interesting to see the similarities and differences. I like how they implemented the resources. Never wanted to touch Yugioh, a lot of the reasons fall on card frame/text size and the community around it, but I'm all on board for this. Appealing characters and cleaner frames, just looks better. Having a determined creator helps too.

To me, actual game mechanics are secondary to aesthetics. And I gotta say I will take Fakemon over yet another generic fantasy dungeons and dragons-esque setting with the same elves, wizards, and orcs we've seen ten thousand million billion times already. I hope Elestrals does well.
